Taking part in the discussion. :) I am usually not too fond of gore/scary/zombie/horror/etc type of series but for some reason got hooked in TWD (and really, not only for being a Daryl fangirl ;) ). Probably because it wasn´t actually so much about the zombies but the humans, I got interested about them. I couldn´t wait for the season 7 to start, but I must admit, even for me it has been quite slow season, and I usually like it slow more than action. I think TWD is now too much like LOST was like; the story doesn´t really go on, if every episode is about different person. I think they should mix up the episodes a bit so everyone would see even a glimpse of their favourite character and what´s going on. I watched LOST rarely but several episodes at once, so that made it interesting - I think otherwise it might have got really really boring. But so far I´ve been good with TWD, even still I hope to see more what is happening. I understand it´s nice to have properly based story but it is getting a bit too much, specially in last episode about Tara.

I must say, I´m not too fond to see violence, but even something happening would be nice. I liked the Carol & Morgan in Kingdom -episode a lot, also the Maggie episode (and it was great surprise to hear Finlandia by Sibelius played in the walker scene!). And I think the actor choise for Negan was well done; he is awful and disgusting and still really funny guy. I hated him in Grey´s anatomy but he suits this role. And for me it is quite fun to see Rick in such position for a change; he started to think he rules the world and I think becoming a bit more humble does him good. But it was so sad to lose Glenn - I guessed for Abraham or him to be Lucilled, but after all they went both. :(

The show (this season anyway) would benefit from showing us multiple characters and locations per episode. That formula works great for Game of Thrones - even during the slower episodes. The Hilltop and Oceanside could have been condensed into one episode. We might see mulptiple stories during the back end of season 7 once they have developed the world building.

Agree 100%. It would make the season seem more like the stories were all moving along at an even pace. Rather than the stop-start style they currently have.

That is what I thought and had hoped for, too. Also it is really hard to stay in track with the timeline this way. How long time it is gone now since the sad day of Negan´s little lesson? Less than a week for the Negan´s visit to Alexandria, but how long did it take for Tara to arrive home by foot? She left with Heath two weeks ago from the attack to the sleeping men (so stupid and awful thing to do of Rick!) but how long it take her to get back?

The show has always opted for the entire episode per character/story though so it's unlikely to change. It wasn't so much an issue in the past because we still had one/two/groups of the main characters as the focal point of the episode.

What was great about the second half was season 6 was that most of the time was spent with the main group following them through their discovery of other communities.

I think the satellite base was within reason - considering Rick made a deal with the Hilltop to feed his people. With no food or with the Saviors a threat, they're dead either way. I blame Rick and Gregory for being overly complacent, someone must have know the true size of the Saviors army before making life and death decisions.

It was Rick's extreme hubris that got them in trouble. His information gathering on the Saviors was lacking (obviously).

Yep.

It did give us this scene though...

:lol

At some point I do hope we find out exactly how Negan has such a massive army....it seems unlikely considering his method of leadership seems to be to humiliate his own people

He promises stability and protection

Any predictions for the mid-season finale?

- Enid runs away again; Carl pursues her
- Long 30-minute dialogue between Morgan and Carol about the morality of killing
- Negan continues to trot and prance around, with bat over shoulder, repeating witty remarks followed by series of smiles and "Ooooooo's," He becomes sassier than scary - ultimately dons the name "Megan" from critics among the Saviors.
- Another zombie wall breach - Community celebrates Rick's momentous 1,000 Kill/Death Ratio.
- Female group prepares for upcoming community menstrual cycle as each wave has increased in intensity due to established synchronization of menses.
- Heath emerges from the woods as leader of another group - the Black Lives Still Matter group coupled with the few Dakota Pipeline protesters still protesting the pipeline's completion from several years ago.
- Ending Cliffhanger: Flashback to Negan's killing scene with increased focus on Glenn and his surroundings. Scene begins with an up close-shot of Glenn's face that gradually blurs as a large metal object in the background comes into focus - a dumpster is revealed. Unbeknownst to Negan, Michonne was able to hide Glenn's body under the dumpster and place a Walker face down beside her to receive the final blows. Glenn is still alive, albeit with eyeball drooping and skull crushed from the initial blow. Unfortunately, he is a vegetable and cannot communicate with the rest of group.
