Finally after several attempts and much chaos during the week, I finally got to sit down and watch the mid season finale. In fact, it just ended. Absolutely one of the best hour longs of drama I've seen this fall on American television. Riveting and utterly devastating piece of storytelling. I frankly should have seen that Sophia was in the barn to begin with but I was too concerned with what the characters were doing to find her and what twists and turns everything was taking. Brilliant, just brilliant. February cannot get here soon enough.

Yeah I feel like I dont even know what to do with myself. Knowing that its not coming on yet for some reason I keep flipping to AMC like its just going to magically appear.

well on the bright side, at least this season we have double the amount of episodes to enjoy compared to season1. and only 2 months to wait instead of a whole year.
does anyone else here like season 2 (so far) more than season 1? personally i felt that even though the budget cutbacks were obviously felt (eg: keeping the locations bound to more or less the same 3 places: highway, woods, farm) it did allow for some very absorbing character moments.

I didn't even consider the fact that Sophia could be in the barn till she was walking through the door, so I was blown away... At that point I knew Rick would be the one to shoot her too.

Funny you mention that. I know it's a trade secret but can anyone guess what percentage was cutback from the budget? 15%, 20% or higher? Just curious.

The Walking Dead is finished this season, and "winter" isn't coming until April. I have nothing to watch on TV anymore

I noticed that for some reason, Rick is always in the position, where he is the one who has to give the "compassionate" kill shot.
But, yeah, it was shocking. In my opinion, they could have held the "we found Sophia" thing off for another season. There should have been some themes of hope left - like, if they actually found her alive somewhere in their travels, and if she able to reunite with her mom. But, that's been thrown out the window now.
It appears that from the direction that this series is taking, that it's only a matter of time before all of the survivors become walkers themselves (or get killed in the process of trying to survive). It's not just Sophia's death, but the entire church scene in episode 2, that presented a morbid sense of Christianity; the zombies attending church while facing a bloody crucifix; Rick praying to God, only to have his prayers answered by Carl getting fatally shot in the chest minutes after.
I guess now, anything goes.

When sophia first went missing I was sure she was dead then they strung us along making us all hopeful. so I started to think she might be alive. I was blown away that she came stumbling out of that barn all zombiefied! Im not sure what more they can do to surprise me but Im a little afraid to find out. lol.
