Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

well on the bright side, at least this season we have double the amount of episodes to enjoy compared to season1. and only 2 months to wait instead of a whole year.

does anyone else here like season 2 (so far) more than season 1? personally i felt that even though the budget cutbacks were obviously felt (eg: keeping the locations bound to more or less the same 3 places: highway, woods, farm) it did allow for some very absorbing character moments.

I couldn't agree more. I've rewatched the first season and even though it's still utterly amazing, I feel that this season has been even better. I'm glad that the pace slowed, but I completely understand why the first season was so fast-paced since there was so much to cover in only six episodes. The character development has been great this season. I also like the fact that they're not following the comic to a T. All in all, I can't wait to see what's in store for the second half of the season.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

When sophia first went missing I was sure she was dead then they strung us along making us all hopeful. so I started to think she might be alive. I was blown away that she came stumbling out of that barn all zombiefied! Im not sure what more they can do to surprise me but Im a little afraid to find out. lol.

Yeah, same here. Well, I decided to read up on some of the comics online, and even though the TV series is deviating, things really start to go downhill after Rick and his crew leave Herschel's farm :(. What they've faced up to now was like a vacation.

Where can you read them online? Are they free to read on www.darkhorsecomics.com? Let me know. I'd like to check them out too. I haven't read any of them yet.

Yeah gotta love that they're deviating from the source material.
Actually suprised that they've managed to let original group alive besides poor Sophia.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

So I finished a marathon of Walking Dead Comics in two days until issue 79 and I have to say I like the way they do things in the TV series better. I care for the characters more and they have more realistic development.

I mean the comics have over 80 issues so far so one can say they have even more character developments but I am impressed with what the TV series have done in little more than 10 episodes.

In the comics people die so suddenly that I stop caring after a while. I like the fact that the TV show producers aren't simply killing people off left and right. Deads have more impact that way. I also like the fact that Shane is still alive in the TV show. He is the perfect mirror to Rick. Different sides of the same coin. The comic seriously lack that aspect.

One could say in the comic currently, Rick is the combination of TV Rick and TV Shane. He starts off like TV Rick but is now slowly turning into TV Shane. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us next season. Prison arc have so much potential to be great as long as they don't screw up the Governor character. In the comic he is so lame and two dimensional.

I think the way things are portrayed in the comic is much more realistic and gut wrenching though. Start to care about a character then BAM, dead. Will agree though that comic Rick is a blend of TV show Rick and Shane. People who judge TV show Shane for what he has done and praise Rick aren't familiar with comic book Rick.

:goodpost::exactly:

I can't agree more with this statement. Not to take away anything from the series, it's a great series but the book made the danger always present. I guess it depends on one's perspective since I personally read the books way back before seeing the TV series.
