Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Great episode except for Lori.
A stupid side-plot to give the character something to do. Why exactly drive out to do exactly what Rick and Glenn were already doing? Not to mention conveniently having your eyes off the road at the same moment a single walker appears. Lame.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Maybe it was the break, but I thought that episode was excellent. The tension is built back up, and the end was great and unexpected. I look forward to next week's follow up. It was also nice to see T-Dawg get some more screen time then his usual background one-line per episode.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Yeah, Lori- she may have earned her death. Why go after them when they JUST LEFT? not like theyd been gone for hours and was overdue like Shane. They were gone like an hour. But killing her in a car crash is way too easy.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Those guys just came outta nowhere at first I thought they be convent to the story but nope not now

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The only way those 2 advanced any story was to hint that not all survivors are friendly, and to demonstrate Rick can be bad ass if needed.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The confrontation between Shane and Dale was tense and the shootout was great! :rock :rock

As for Lori...

I'm pretty sure she'll survive whatever they throw at her until we get to the prison and when/if the Governor shows up. So all the Lori haters will have to wait awhile longer. Probably next season! Lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Shouldn't have clicked the spoiler. LOL

Yeah, great episode. Loved Rick at the end. Loved Hershel (sp?) at the end too. He was like "____ those _____es, now what do we do Rick?".

And I agree completely on Lori. What the hell was that all about? My husband left an hour ago but now I'm going to waste gas, steal a car and go after him for no reason. WTH?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

This is a great series. That "swimmer" zombie in the well was sick. The way they end each episode makes you wanna watch the next.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

OK. I got a theory. Bear with me and please, give your thoughts.

Ok. this is something that popped into my mind last night. I have a feeling that ole' boy that was behind the bar isn't dead. Sure it looked like Rick shot him in the head, but this is TV afterall. Could very well have just taken out his eye (ala the governor) and give him a person vendetta against rick. I know that everyone is thinking Merle is the governor, and we see Daryl say "sorry brother" in the preview. I think Merle will just be part of "one eyed dude's" posse. Biggest thing that moved me to this was that it didn't show Rick ensuring that he was dead like he did with "tons of fun"

Thoughts?:dunno

This clip for next week's episode seems to support that theory to some extent. However, it sounds like they take him back to the farm, heal him up and then send him on his way. Real stupid if you ask me. Why doesn't Rick just finish him off like he did Tons o Fun?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

to be honest, i thought it was just a so-so episode. it just felt like they were treading water, not knowing where exactly to take the story from here on.

only the last bit with the stand off between rick and the new guys was good. some good shooting, there!

the episode does seem to hint at some interesting new developments, though...

herschel's daughter collapsing & developing a fever seems to suggest she'll turn. if she wasn't bitten, and it looks like she wasn't, then it stands to reason that there is a new method of infection at play. airborne, thru the water supply, etc.

anyone have any theories on that?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I gotta agree that the Lori thing made no sense - unless it was because she's afraid of what Dale said about Shane, and that's really why she's hustling to go get Rick. If it is though, they didn't make that particularly clear.

The bar scene was excellent, the way they created the tension, the resolution - and now Hershel has changed his mind about Rick, seeing that he'll do what's necessary to protect his group. He's going to want his daughters/son with him, you watch.

I also love how this scene parellels some of the arguments about Shane's behavior. When tubby pees on the floor, they use that to show us that this pair no longer follows any social convention, letting Rick know how dangerous they are to his group.

I'm hoping that:

the one guy in the bar isn't going to be taken back with them. I can't see any justification - he just tried to kill you, he'll just do it again at the first opportunity.

I think they are all already infected with the virus that makes you a zombie after you die. I think that's what the CDC guy told Rick. That's why the blood etc. doesn't mean really mean anything when they get it on them. There is a seperate effect at work in the bite of the zombie that infects them with a separate illness that has so far been 100% fatal, but the two aren't directly connected. I think the girl really is just in shock.

yeah, i also figured that they already are. is that a plot thread from the comic?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Sorta kinda - they've varied things a bit, but I think they'll stick with the major points around the virus. Hard to be sure so far though.

Agree 100%! The episode was very slow and the bar scene at the end was the only thing that I thought was plot advancement. The Lori car scene was so cliche. I was insulted that the writers thought they could put such a dumb scene like that in the show.

We all know she isn't going to die. Maybe the writers will have her miscarry the baby due to the accident? Otherwise, the whole car accident storyline is pretty silly.
