Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Loved tonight's ep. I really liked the little clash between Lori and Andrea

It was possible to be up for Lori on that one.

I just finished watching it. Can't believe we're already down to a mere 3 episodes remaining of the season. At least the next season will be longer again.

Personally I hope Shane is kept on. Its already diverted from the graphic novels in a big way so why not. Hell I'd love to see him redeemed and fully reconciled with Rick at some point further down the road.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I want Shane to live as well. I would love to see the interaction between Shane and the Governor. I believe they are the same character just in different stages of their development. I can see Shane eventually becoming like the Governor.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I feel like Shane is gonna get blasted in this season finale. If he doesn't I am going to be slightly pissed cause I love the look he gave at the end of last week's episode. I really wanted him to ____ him up.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The way Shane tried to kill Rick in the last episode just pissed me off. I really wanted Rick to leave him behind on the short bus :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Shane is definitely the most interesting character atm but I do hope he bites it by season's end. I don't think the events of the last ep changed his way of thinking and I see him still having a power struggle with Rick and Rick showed last night he won't back down from Shane so I can only see things escalating between the two.

He threw a wrench at him in frustration. I don't think it was a fully committed attempt to kill Rick.

Yeah that's right but he did try to take Ricks gun off him, but I loved the shot of Shane's reflection in the broken glass with the walker in the background. Awesome

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Why must the show follow the book? At this point can we agree that they are TWO COMPLETELY different worlds? A la Burton Batman and Nolan Batman? Or Comic Spidey and movie Spidey? Or Comic Hulk and Bixby Hulk?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

^ Because it's still based on the book. It's not like anything you mentioned, because they all have many decades worth of material. Different stories, reboots, remakes, all kinds of crap.

The Walking Dead is just one single comic run. Now, they are doing different things, (from what I heard) but they still have to please the fans too. Why deprive them of what they want to see? And they want to see THAT BIG THING.

There's only ONE spiderman origin story (Amazing Fantasy #15) YET somehow they've managed to make, not ONE, but TWO moved retelling it and NEITHER is faithful to the original. Harry Potter movies take liberties. The LORD of the Rings took a crapton of liberties. Those are only one book. You're argument is not valid.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Aw come on. He's cool. He's just crazy and probably lost his virginity to Lori. That's why he is acting like that lol

that explains everything actually, he is Marv From Sin City pretty much! :panic:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

It's not really about following the book, in Shane's case. The scope of his character has already far exceeded his comic counterpart, but the way the character is written, both versions will end up in the same place, even if the paths they took to get there are slightly different. A story of this sort needs a hubristic 'core-cast' character like Shane to have his downfall. its a milestone or turning point for the story.

It needs to happen, though I don't want it to happen for the same reasons as some of the Shane haters.

I predict that his end will be tragic, and one that we will pity, rather than wish on the character, because he both exemplifies and falls victim to the many truths about the world around him.

At the beginning of the show, I maligned what the show writers did with the character, but now I feel that Shane from the tv show far surpasses that of the comic. The previous episode cinched it for me during his and Rick's conversation and the shots of Shane looking on to the lone zombie.

Yeah so? And when he did finally get a gun he left Rick alone and headed for the kid. Smart man, since the beginning.

:goodpost:

I agree 100%. :D

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't know why, but the recurring shot of the zombie in the wheat field, bookended both times with a close up on Shane was considerably impactful to me. He is the most interesting (and obviously the most dynamic) character on the show, in my opinion.

This is the song played at the end, btw, if anyone is interested:

Wye Oak - Civilian

thank you so much for posting this,

this song is just beautiful, a really great way to end the episode.

I have to say the zombie walking really left an impression on me, it was kinda sad actually, just that one zombie walking,

Smart men don't continue to persue married women that were lied to about their spouses health status and who's husband also happens to carry a Smith and Wesson Magnum.
