Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

True, but I was just saying AMC did make the right choice initially.

I think some of the best roles we've seen had that happen. Could you imagine Ernest Borgnine or Orson Welles playing Vito Corleone? Frank Sinatra or Burt Lancaster as Dirty Harry?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Here is that spoiler backed up by the DVD promo of season 2 itself:

As for someone whose long-term survival chances are not looking good, a description of the upcoming second season Blu-Ray features this description. The relevant part has been bolded:

"This special limited edition Blu-Ray includes all 13 episodes on 4 discs, including bonus features such as: the making of the barn, an extended zombie gut scene, Shane's last episode, full Comic Con coverage with panel, comic book vs episode comparison, and more!"

So yeah... sounds like Shane is pretty definitely on the way out, and I kind of think that the wording might even suggest it happens before the season finale. [ShockTillYouDrop]

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

:yess:

If that happens we get to read posts from delusional freaks hating on Daryl because there's no Shane to hate on anymore.

:pow

No joke. I can hear the whining already. You mean Dale though, not Shane right? I think both Dale and Shane are goners, but I think Dale goes first.

Anyone hating on Daryl because of no Shane would indeed be delusional.

What about no Dale?

Nope...
I meant Daryl. Out of everybody in the group, he'll be the new "Shane." Nobody else is fit to take on that role in the group.

Oh, I see. I was thinking that The Governor is going to fill the role of main antagonist next season, but that will be external to the group. If there is going to be internal strife, then Daryl could fill the role.

Exactly...
It'll be interesting to see how they fill that void. I'm betting we see several more poor leadership choices by Rick when the Governor makes an appearance, up to and including a point where they have the opportunity to kill the Governor and Rick get's cold feet only to have more deaths occur as a result. A shame if this is Shane's last hurrah. It would've been great tv to see him going toe-to-toe against the Governor. He seemed to be the only one who could bring the "tough" out in the group.

I think Daryl will be able to hold his own against the Governor. Right now I don't think he wants to be or is able to be a leader in the group, but I think he will eventually become Rick's right hand man - figuratively, but maybe literally too if they follow through with Rick losing his hand to the Governor.

I highly doubt they'll go that route. Too expensive to cover in CG and I've yet to see anything practical as far as appliances go that make that remotely believable. They'll likely either find some other way to wound him permanently (like nerve damage or something), or forgo it all together.

I'd be surprised if they did the whole hand too...but maybe the fingers. Easier for CGI or hiding on screen, but results in the same handicap for the character.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

You know the costume department making shirts with one longer sleeve and a prosthetic of a stump made by their own team that has been doing fantastic with the Zombie make up would easily account for the hand being gone. I find that more of a viable solution, simply saying Rick doesn't wear short sleeved shirts past this point and for close up using simple camera angles to make it look like his hand is gone than actually saying they'll use CGI. Just my two pennies

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't like Shane, but you can't get rid of everyone you don't like or the show will suffer. Once Shane is gone, I'm sure they'll replace him with another _______ we won't like. Makes the show interesting. :lol

The thing I don't like about Lori is that she's basically the woman who falls down when running and the man has to pick her up, if you know what I mean. I HATE THAT!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Hey Ween:

If they follow the books your problem with Laurie should be handled soon enough

Hopefully she falls down, Rick doesn't pick her up, and a Zombie Shane eats her ass. SO MUCH WIN!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't think they'll do the whole ass because it'd be too expensive to make work with the CGI so probably just part of it or maybe a little damage to the rear to give the same impression. ;)
