Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Show spoiler
The way Randall was trying to sweet talking Carl proves, to me anyway, that Randall can't be trusted.

The reason Rick had a hard time shooting Randall was because Carl was there. Sure he hesitated before Carl showed up but he was resigned to doing what needed to be done.

They're about to execute him, and he knows it. You wouldn't try to escape?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

His group, not him. For all we know, he's just a kid trying to survive, and he stayed with a bad bunch because he saw no other option, or maybe he's just a very good con man. We don't know.

Whether he participated or not, would you really want to take that chance and keep him around your family especially in that world and especially after you or someone in your group has tortured him? It's a hard decision all around but I think most would have executed him. Whether they can sleep at night or not is another question.

I'll use your argument against you here. Randall doesn't know for certain that they are going to execute him. They are still debating about letting him go, keeping him prisoner or executing him. Yet he still tries to get Carl to release him and say he will take him back to his camp and keep him safe. Riiiiight!

No, I probably wouldn't take that chance, and I never said they shouldn't kill him. I'm just saying he's not the mustache twirling baddie some seem to be painting him as, at least as far as we know.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I foresee a future episode where Rick will have another opportunity to take out Randall and he won't bat an eyelash no matter who's watching.

Since it seems the spoiler is out the window. Just the fact that Rick didn't shoot him should reassure Randall that they weren't going to kill him.

I sure as hell wouldn't make that assumption if I were in his shoes.

I suppose but at the same time he's probably not Mother Theresa either. Like I said it's a terrible decision to make.

Really? That's an easy thing to say when you're not chained about to catch a bullet in the head.

Did you miss the kid's expression when he talked about the camper's pretty daughters? :dunno

The fact that he's with a hostile group and knows the whereabouts of the farm is reason enough to take him out.

I never said it wasn't.

This I agree with. Comic spoiler within
Sometimes in this show I think they blend bits and pieces of characters. I think Randall represents the guy who helped Rick and the group escape the governor. He was portrayed as a good guy to until it was revealed that they were allowed to escape. Once the guy found out where Ricks group was he was supposed to go back and tell the governor. Rick put a stop to that. Rick is much more like Shane in the comic.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

As far as Randell goes, I was totally on Dale's side...until Randell talked to Carl. Yeah, he needed to die. His intentions were very clear.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Did you miss the first half of that post? :lol

I guess I didn't catch the expression, but that's still just conjecture on your part. We can think he's bad, we can suppose, we can read into a gesture or an expression but that doesn't prove he's bad. That's the only point I'm trying to make here, not that Randal should be spared, but that simply thinking he might possibly be a bad guy doesn't make it so.
