Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

And you're halfway to zombie. :dunno

Rick told her to stay put unless he didn't come back. I'm delusional and you're re-writing the show.

Shane is guessing. He's scared and he will tread a mile of corpses to ease his fears. He doesn't know any more than anyone else in the group because he, as well as they, didn't watch Nicotero on Talking Dead.

Exactly, they are all guessing. Whatever Nicotero said on Talking Dead, it is ambiguos on the show and purposely so I believe, so that the audience can struggle right along with Rick and the others about this decision. The discussion it's generated here tonight proves they've done a good job of that.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I disagree completely.

Of course, because giving Shane his just dues would leave you with zero argument.

It was all there IN the episode. You just had to look for it. Greg was just embellishing what was already on screen.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

No, it's because giving Shane his just dues would make me a person who ignores reality beyond the emergency of the moment.

And no, none of it was explicit enough in the episode for any character to make a clear decision. They were hedging their bets and not taking any risks by opting for execution. They didn't know, and were taking the chance of killing an innocent man, simply because they didn't know what else to do.

Because killing Randal has everything to do with the "emergency of the moment?!" :lol WRONG!

The grin he gave during Daryl's interrogation when he mentioned the camper's daughters. The sleazy talk to Carl about taking him and his parents to their camp. Daryl interrogated him and Daryl saw enough in him to warrant his execution.

There may have been enough for the audience to connect the dots, but not enough for the characters.

Last time I checked IMDb, you weren't listed in the cast. :dunno :nana:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I think it's pretty clear that Randal is not innocent. Rick should have killed/executed him for the safety of the group. Whether it is humane or not doesn't matter anymore. Rick has to learn to better protect his own. Starting with his son.

I f'n hated Shane for his past actions. Dale was right about Shane being perfect for this world. Sad thing is, you have to be a Shane to survive and Rick is too Rick to be a Shane. :)horror)

The emergency of the moment is their fear of what will happen. They have no clue whatsoever that there is in fact something to fear. Just a suspicion.

For all they know, the other group has already figured out where the farm is. Randall being dead or alive may not even matter.

He saw enough to be suspicious of. And no one who decided to execute knew about what he said to Carl.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

It doesn't matter who said what in Talking Dead, the characters on the show don't have the same certainty we do because they didn't look at spoiler images the week before, they don't have the writer or God telling them everyones intentions, they don't see the events from the same perspective, with the same detail and shots and angles we do. They are emotional and influenced by things we aren't. Even Dale told Rick to look at Carl, and thats what stopped Rick, not just Carl being there, Carl wanting to witness the murder of a person, not a walker, a teen, a kid.

And of course that guy tryed to sweettalk Carl and survive, I'd do the same if I thought i was about to be murdered.

And Shanes decisions? Look at them from outside of the group, if I were Dale or Glenn or anyone else I sure as ____ wouldn't want to face outside reprucissions from another group for something like Shane's actions. Shanes actions almost got them kicked off the farm. And Shane's decision to assault Rick in the last episode was far from a good call.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

This show really brings out the best in people. :lol

That's the great thing about this show. I can't think of any other show on right now that generates this level of discussion. As long as people don't get personal about it, it's all good.

Irregardless, Shane was right. None of his decisions have been wrong. He and Daryl are the only two equipped to survive in this new world. Whether you like it or not, not even Rick is equipped to survive. We saw this tonight where he was too cowardly to put down a man who was asking for it. Hell, he can't even be a real father to Carl, let alone protect him from wandering off and nearly being eaten after ____ing with a walker. :lol

I'm saying people are....haha.

I don't get why people are making so much out of this scene as proof positive that Randal is evil. Yeah, it was unsettling, but I can also see it from Randal's pov, he's about to die and he's desperate.

Shane and Daryl togeather forever and alone. Humanity's last hope? No thanks. Theres a reason that even now as vocal as Shane is, no one is following him and still listening to Rick.
