You're delusional. He should've told her to stay put. Expecting her to navigate her way back in an unfamiliar environment is what lead to her death. He told her to go back and she did as instructed. Wound up chow for Walkers.
She'd still be alive. Point is, she followed Rick's instructions and died as a result.
It's already been revealed per the Executive Producer what Randall's intentions were. So your point here is not only wrong, but moot.

It's all about a risk to the group's security. You taking their side on the argument proves this. Nicotero already revealed the intentions. Shane was right all along, and Dale's little guilt trip has cost the group dearly as we'll see in the last two episodes.
Actually Nam, I'm 99% sure he told Sophia to stay put and not wonder off and that he would be back for her. I remember thinking what a tard she was for not listening to Rick.
Point is, every single decision Shane has made has been right on the money.
