I vaguely remember him saying it to Dale when they were left by the RV while everyone went to look for Sophia. I only remember because I'm just rewatching the series.

Two different locations, same story. I thought they stumbled upon the Governor's compound while scavenging supplies for the Prison.

shane breaks that kids randalls neck in the woods. while everybody is looking for him. then comes back bloody like he escapes..
then shane gets rick to follow him into the woods and figures out Shane wants to kill him..
then shane is stabbed.becomes a zombie and ricks kid shoots Shane..
then zombies come out of the woods and there overrun. maybe more people die.can't say yet..
have not read the script.[

Yea, but if you consider what he's saying...

why wouldn't shane just say the kid attacked him and he killed him in self defense? Makes more sense that Shane goes to release him but doesn't agree, but tells Randall to run for his life. Shane smashes his own nose, goes back to the others to tell him he attacked him and ran off, and then the whole group wants to kill Randall.

If Shane gets stabbed, it's going to take him awhile to turn. He's got to die first, then turn - and Rick knows that if he doesn't shoot him in the head he'll be a zombie. On top of that, Carl killing a zombie Shane isn't all that dramatic, and neither is Rick killing Shane in the first place.

And zombies overrunning the place as a potential situation isn't exactly a revelation. I'm not putting too much stock in this particular insider information.

Of course, I suppose....

that Shane could kill Randall out in the woods, and lie about him escaping to get everyone out looking so he could get alone time with Rick. But if they have Rick kill Shane and Carl shoot zombie Shane, I'm going to be pretty bummed.

Given last week, I don't see Carl killing much of anything the rest of this season, let alone people he loves and respects.
