Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

"THR: What's Lori most upset about, that her husband is a murderer, that he killed someone Lori loved, Carl's hand in Shane's death or that he finally revealed that everyone's infected and he's been keeping it a secret?
Mazzara: All of that is going through Lori's mind. Rick murdered Shane and she did confess she had feelings for Shane. Her son was a part of it. They're all infected. Is her baby infected? We're out on the road, where is she going to give birth? What happens if the baby dies? What happens if she dies? All of these questions are going through her head. The thing that affects her most is that she played a role in Shane's death. She put those two men at odds, she whispered in Rick's ear and then she talked to Shane at the windmill. She realizes that this has been over her, and in a sense she has been an active participant in Shane's death. So she can blame Rick for that, but she's horrified by her own culpability."

bullcrap. if that was the intent, NONE of that even remotely came across in the actress's performance. she totally acted like she hated rick's guts and was mad as hell at him. not herself. come on, mazzara.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Casting mostly "unknowns" or less known actors for this series is one of the best parts of it. It has really helped, me at least, believe in these characters and pull me in and keep me hooked wanting more and more. All I see from these actors when I look at them are the Walking Dead characters they portray and nothing else.

That would not have been accomplished otherwise.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Not sure if this has been discussed. Too many posts to read through.

If they all are already contaminated then the baby has it too. Wouldn't it be dramatic if Lori lost the baby and it ate its way through her (after turning)? I know that is a disturbing thought but it would make for shocking tv. Along with getting rid of Lori!! :)

I still see Andrea as Ben Grim's shallow-assed fiance and Hershall as Sam Braun. :( :lol

How would a weak infant with no teeth eat it's way through her?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Ordered. Thank you! Is this all of it to date or are there more?

I think that they're getting close to issue 100 now, would love to see another volume of the compendium to commemorate that. I feel like the only reason that I haven't bought volume 1 yet is because I don't want some giant "Walking Dead Phonebook" next to a bunch of skinnier, taller trades.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Yeah, not sure I buy that. She seemed like she was playing her own devious little game with Rick and Shane. To say she wasn't aware of messing with their heads is almost ridiculous and I think she might've pitted them against eachother to force her to choose once and for all. Maybe she was thinking the wrong man died, maybe she was just shocked that it actually went as far as it did, or maybe it's because her own son contributed as well.

That chick needs to get a grip. If you light a fuse, you better be ready to watch the fireworks.

I think the actress is desperately reaching for more depth out of a character writers have wading in a kiddie pool. :lol

I think they are near issue 100 in the comics so you may need to switch to Trade Paperbacks (6 issues each, I think) when you finish the Compendium. No word on when Compendium 2 will come out but since they obviously want to sell TPBs, hardcovers, etc. it probably won't be for quite while.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Lori's Raection is justifiable but she is still annoying

The only way to rationalize Lori's reaction to Rick's confession is by arguing that she was very upset that Rick failed to play the peace maker in the rick/shane conflict and instead opted to let the chips fall as they may which ultimately resulted in the death of a man that Lori had feelings for: Shane.

It is true that Rick's indecision over the Randall incident was really a byproduct of the whole "I make better decisions than you" conflict with Shane, afterall, it was shane who wanted rick to kill randall and one would assume that rick's hesitation was in part due to his good morals and in part due to his ego and unwillingness to do it Shane's way. And as a result, it was this indecisive stance that pushed Shane over the edge and resulted in his death.

But the thing is this; it is hard to blame Rick for not actively doing something to address the conflict with Shane. His best friend and wife had an affair and the baby may actually be Shane's. And to make matters worse, Shane was also starting to act like an active participant in all Grimes family decision making.

Lori on the other hand is another matter altogether. Even though her behaviour is justifiable, her character still comes across as very annoying or at least rather poorly written. I mean, her husband just told her that he was almost killed and shouldn't his safety trump everything else? Well, apparently not judging by the way she reacted.

The only conclusion I draw is that Lori is an adulterous beach who would have been equally as happy with either Shane or Rick. Hence, Rick's announcement that he almost died having zero weight.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I think Lori's reaction was based solely on the fact that she has a poo-ha

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

where's a good place to pick up the comics in hard-cover?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Coming from someone who has never read the comics...

Andrea: love the direction she has taken. She's definitely hardened up. I'd like to see her survive.

Lori: tramp is carrying Glen's baby for all we know. She needs to die.

Carol: helpless and a burden. Die already. Geez!

Shane: was hoping he would leave the group, become a leader of a different group, and somewhere down the line meet up with Rick and whoever's with him for a confrontation. Yeah, that actually sounds lame.

Glen: he's OK, but like to see him toughen up.

Daryl: badass redneck. Doesn't even seem to think anything is wrong. Just another day at work in the dirty South. One of my favorites.

T-Dawg: he's a good extra pair of hands but another mouth to feed.

Rick: "This is not a democracy anymore!" Damn straight! Listen and obey! :yess:
