Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Didn't Lori TELL rick that Shane was a dangerous threat? I know she's going through a lot too but her reaction towards Rick seemed VERY unexpected and silly. How long before she tells Rick "this is Shane's baby"....?

Before the zombie apocalypse she admits to not wanting to be married to Rick anymore and isn't even sure if she still loves him. Post apocalypse, she pursued Shane and things just "happened" per her admission to Rick at the fence which was backed up by Shane's statements to Rick when they stopped at the 4-way. She tells Shane to stay away from Carl and don't talk to him, then tells him not to brush off Carl. She then tells him to go, and then tells him to stay. She confirms that Rick killed the living to protect his family and then tells him Shane is a danger (basically telling Rick to kill Shane). Then tells Shane she's sorry for causing all the mess. Meanwhile, because Andrea is adapting to the world, she tries to cause tension between Andrea and Maggie. She can't be bothered to watch her kid at all which led to him being in several dangerous situations, getting Dale killed and even killing the Shane walker which she's pissed at Rick for. She also calls Daryl selfish for not running on her errand despite the fact that Daryl took an arrow AND a bullet looking for a little girl that wasn't even his. She drives a car right into a zombie and then gets bent when Shane lies to save her life. Did I miss anything? :lol

Dude, she gotta go. Or the writers need to start writing the character better. IMHO, she's more annoying than Carl. :monkey1

:lecture:exactly: I can give Carl a pass, because he's more a tool of the writers at this point than a viable character. Lori on the other hand is totally bi-polar.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Is Daryl in the comics? Or was he just added for the show?

Thinking about picking up the first couple volumes.

Added for the show.

I would actually like to see more of the core group's lives before the walkers.

Someone needs to let me know when the show gets past the point of the first 50 issues so I can go buy the 1-50 omnibus. Since I started as a show watcher I don't want to ruin anything for myself.

They have digital versions. :) :exactly: Bought a couple of volumes last night to catch up to the post Prison storyline. 5 bucks isnt a bad price per volume.

There's just something off putting to me about digital reads. I'm down for saving trees and such, It's just not the same staring at a screen then turning real pages. :lol

I agree but it's so much easier. The IPAD's ability to multitask is amazing..especially for people like me who tend to read 2-3 books at the same time. And the savings in books and comics is substantial.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Or...

Daryl is filling Tyreese's shoes.

My wife brought that up but the thing is:

We know that Merle was amazingly racist and while Daryl seems to be a bit more levelheaded that his brother he still cracks the jokes here and there I'm not sure that the situation has him so changed that he'd actually take up with Michonne. Given the actress playing Carol it's really difficult thinking anyone taking up with her and I wonder if she'll try the attempt to get into Rick and Lori's marriage at all. Given that Glenn and Maggie originally stay on the farm, I wonder what path has been carved out in general.

Will the 16 be split 8 and 8? 16 weeks straight feels like it's too much.

I would imagine they'll be a mid-season break. Part one running most likely from October 28th to December 16th and then picking up again after the new year.

I hope not because we know what happens to Tyreese.

Given that Daryl is so popular that he is being considered to be written into the books I doubt that will happen. I think you'll get a Tyreese at some point just maybe at a later point. They already futzed around with Shane, I could see the same drawout for other characters.

Hopefully Daryl doesn't die, he's my favorite character. :(

He is so amazingly popular I doubt he'll go anytime soon, given that he is not from the books and so the writers have a blank check with him, I'm sure they'll play with it as long as they can. Although who knows, I got into a very interesting conversation via Facebook about:

The fact that Dale is dead and the fact that his character has a fairly big arc in this next part of the comics. I didn't think anyone cared about Dale that much in the books or the series.

Kirkman confirmed he's coming to the books. Teaser was posted several dozens of pages ago.

I think we'll see Carol and Daryl make hillbilly stinkies at the prison. I was talking with Pix about the potential of Andrea and Michonne hooking up.

^^^ Fanboys' wet dream. :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

This is not a spoiler soo.. wouldn't be insane if they threw in a twist and Carl is Shane's son.. Shane and Lori had an affair years ago

If that's the case, Carl certainly avoided most of Shane's features. :lol

I'm the same way. I'm an incredibly late adopter of tech, so I might get into it down the line, who knows. But for now, I still love the feel of a book or TPB.

Comic book Issue 13 marks the beginning of the season 3 story arc.

Issue 12 covers the groups departure from Herschel's farm (albeit for a very different reason) so you would be spoiler free reading up to issue 12.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Is the comic one of those books that has all sorts of off-shoots and side collections?

I was planning on picking up Compendium 1, then moving on to the books (since it looks like Compendium 2 isn't out yet). But then it appears that "Rise of the Governor" is a separate book / storyline altogether?
