Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

16 episodes next year is the best news yet! Maybe by season 4 we'll get a full fledge season with 22-26 episodes like most other TV shows! :rock

16 is a long ways away from the mere 6 that started us off and the 13 we got this year! :D

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Will the 16 be split 8 and 8? 16 weeks straight feels like it's too much.

I believe the 3rd season of the Walking Dead and the upcoming final season of Breaking Bad are the only AMC shows to receive a 16 episode season. No other show on AMC, not even Mad Men, has gotten that many episodes in one season. Based on that I don't think it's gonna happen.

I do think 16 is a solid number, anymore and there is too much room for sidetracking and boredom.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

This is not a spoiler soo.. wouldn't be insane if they threw in a twist and Carl is Shane's son.. Shane and Lori had an affair years ago

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Lori's Raection is justifiable but she is still annoying

The only way to rationalize Lori's reaction to Rick's confession is by arguing that she was very upset that Rick failed to play the peace maker in the rick/shane conflict and instead opted to let the chips fall as they may which ultimately resulted in the death of a man that Lori had feelings for: Shane.

It is true that Rick's indecision over the Randall incident was really a byproduct of the whole "I make better decisions than you" conflict with Shane, afterall, it was shane who wanted rick to kill randall and one would assume that rick's hesitation was in part due to his good morals and in part due to his ego and unwillingness to do it Shane's way. And as a result, it was this indecisive stance that pushed Shane over the edge and resulted in his death.

But the thing is this; it is hard to blame Rick for not actively doing something to address the conflict with Shane. His best friend and wife had an affair and the baby may actually be Shane's. And to make matters worse, Shane was also starting to act like an active participant in all Grimes family decision making.

Lori on the other hand is another matter altogether. Even though her behaviour is justifiable, her character still comes across as very annoying or at least rather poorly written. I mean, her husband just told her that he was almost killed and shouldn't his safety trump everything else? Well, apparently not judging by the way she reacted.

The only conclusion I draw is that Lori is an adulterous beach who would have been equally as happy with either Shane or Rick. Hence, Rick's announcement that he almost died having zero weight.

the baby is shane's

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I think it's funny that people are railing about Michonne and how it's a "jump the shark" moment when he appearance was as out of the book as you could get considering what has been changed. Why she has the sword, the zombies, etc will all be detailed and fits perfectly into this world.

That's a fact. People might be giving this world too much credit in terms of sanity.

TheMike said:
As for T-Dog = Tyreese I just don't see it:

The Carol/Michonne/Tyreese angle just doesn't work with him especially given that if Carol and him start hooking up it'd seem out of nowhere. I still maintain they'll find Tyreese on their way to the actual prison somehow.

Or...

Daryl is filling Tyreese's shoes.

Rick really screwed everyone. If he hadn't brought Randal back there would have been no reason for gunshots to go off and draw the attention of the herd as they were passing by in the dark.

No.

Because he was tired of all the bull____? :dunno

Yes.

He spelled it right out. How long does he have to stand around waiting for Shane to pull something like he did with Randall? Why should he have to stoop to being the 'better' man and tolerate his former best friend's homicidal envy? Why should he accomodate that threat?

He shouldn't, but he should not have told Lori.

bullcrap. if that was the intent, NONE of that even remotely came across in the actress's performance. she totally acted like she hated rick's guts and was mad as hell at him. not herself. come on, mazzara.

What has she openly admitted to herself so far? She confessed to Shane that she was deeply moved and grateful that he saved her and Carl, to the point that she was able to forgive him everything (standing by the windmill). But, what was her reaction to him when Rick turned up alive? It took her how many episodes to own up?

Her first instinct is clearly not admission of culpability. The affair was all Shane's fault; Shane's death was all Rick's fault.

I also don't think she's consciously manipulating anyone. She just doesn't know what the ____ she's doing or thinking at any given moment.

Have we been watching the same show?! Or do you just have it bad for dumb broads? :dunno

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I would rather have 16 straight episodes

As would I. This hiatus crap is annoying. Though I suppose I should be thankful I don't have to suffer through american ad breaks every 5 minutes.

The hiatus crap bit AMC right in the ass this season. If they'd let the series run its course instead of giving it a mid-season break, this season's biggest spoilers about Shane's death would've remained hidden until after the season finale. Unfortunately giving the break led to the announcement of him starring in Darabont's new series and the confirmation of his "last episode" on the Season 2 BR set hitting the press before the episode aired. :lol

Didn't Lori TELL rick that Shane was a dangerous threat? I know she's going through a lot too but her reaction towards Rick seemed VERY unexpected and silly. How long before she tells Rick "this is Shane's baby"....?
