Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Read the books upto Book 7 last year.

Watched the first season ages ago and had the second season on my Sky Recordings.

Got around to watching it the last few nights and quite simply it was amazing. Although i know whats coming from the books the show mixes things up and keeps me on the edge of my seat. Haven't been this engaged in a show for a long time.

Was kinda bummed when Shane dies, he was an ******* but most of the time it was in the greater good for the group, upon taking Randall put to the woods i recalled what Dale (R.I.P :() siad about people like him killing again and knew what was coming.

Favourite scene overall was the bar scene, Rick OWNED those two scumbags :lol

Can't wait for S3. It looks like the group is gonna become more vicious as time goes by. And Rick looks to become increasingly so from the trailer.

Wonder if Rick will lose his hand? i doubt it but it'd be great to see.

Hope they don't mess up the sheer evil of The Governor

Spoilertag that in your post. :tap

I'm rewatching S2 again and it's just making me want S3 to start even more. :gah: :D

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Yeah, October can't come soon enough. But, we'll just have to wait.

If the season 2 ending is any indication, Rick is now becoming warped and his leadership questionable. I'm not sure if this is more in line with what happens in the comics or not, as I've only read a handful from year one, but I hope Rick doesn't change too much. I like the heroic Rick, who does what he feels right and what others won't do out of fear or survival.

Like when he stepped in...

...and did the right thing, upon the horrific realization that Sophia died and became "one of them." While everyone else was still stuck in a state of shock, Rick fought it off, as well as all the inner turmoil and guilt that was beating down his door... and put her out of her misery.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I don't think he's changed at all, but that's just me. He was reluctant before to go as far as was necessary to maintain that heroism. Now, he's over it.

I don't know, just seems like he might be walking the line now.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I think one of the things that attests to the quality of his character is how thorough he is before he crosses a line that he's unsure of. It took him a long time to decide that killing his best friend was the right course of action. Now that he's made the decision, he understands where the real line is. It's a hard line to discern, but I think he sees very clearly where it is now. I doubt he'll be making any 'shoot Otis in the leg' moves any time soon.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I agree. I'm just saying, I hope he never crosses it. My faith in his character would take a hit. xD

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

This could be a big crossroad for the series depending on what they adapt from the comics, but...
I definitely would not mind seeing Lori go down and Rick start carrying the phone. This creeped me out when I first realized what was going on in the comics and think it would be pretty cool to see him spiraling like this on screen

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

That's for sure. If he became Shane, the show would be toast as far as I'm concerned.
Agreed. They're two different characters and shouldn't both go down that road. That said, I actually liked Shane. He was the guy you were supposed to love to hate, in some respects.

Then you missed the whole point of it. Rick killing Shane was Rick coming out of his cocoon. It was his version of the wake-up call Andrea gave to ho-bag on the farm.

Comic Spoiler/Potential Show Spoiler:
In the comics, Rick slowly starts going crazy after Lori dies. She dies at the prison when the Governor's troops attack, killing her and the baby. Anyway, he hears a phone ring and talks to her and it turns up the phone is disconnected. He keeps talking to her and eventually takes the phone with him when they leave the prison.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

If you think Rick became like Shane, then you missed the point of it.

He embraced aspects of Shane's personality and will continue to do so. You saw a spark of that in the bar and will see more of it this next season. It's also why he used the term "murdered" in the dialogue when talking about killing Shane vs. "self defense."
