Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I doubt it will follow the comic exactly, but even without any comic knowledge, I think you could surmise that Shane ain't going to be too happy. In fact, I doubt Lori and Rick are going to be all that thrilled with the situation by the time it's finished up - that tends to be the way these things go when you're lusting after your best friend's wife, he ends up in a coma, there's a convienent zombie apocalypse, you convince her to run off with you for safety's sake, you manipulate her into bed, and then your best friend miraculously shows up again. :D

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Yes and no. I was on set and covered the filming of the pilot episode for Total Film Magazine and IESB (who I no longer write for). Because of that I was lucky enough to be cast as one of the Atlanta zombie extras in EPS 1, 2 and (possibly) 5 and was on set a lot of the time. And I'm doing some work with Rainbow Media (AMC's parent company) on PR for Season 2.

Wow, that's so cool. I'm jealous.

Which zombie were you? One of the horse eaters or tank climbers?

I watched episode 2 again last night and saw you walk in front of Rick and Glenn as they were going to the construction site. Very cool!

Tank climber in EP1. Then in EP2 I was one of the ones walking among Rick and Glenn on the street when they're wearing the guts.

Interesting trivial anecdote: There actually was some animal blood or guts mixed in with that stuff. And because that scene was shot on literally the hottest day we had in Atlanta this year (99 degrees with 90% humidity) it really did kinda smell. :monkey4

Also... It was so hot over those few days that all of the "hero" zombies (those with lots of prosthetics for longer close ups and featured shots) had to stay in refrigerated trucks between takes because the makeups were literally melting to and off of their faces.

There are screen grabs a ways back where he shows himself on the tank and walking in front of Rick but I can't remember what page it was - maybe in the 60's?

Yep. That was me. I was one of what they were calling "Classic Romero Zombies"... not much prosthetics at all, just a lot of caked on gray and ashen makeup. :lol

I love hearing all this behind the scene and trivia stuff. It is like the director's and actor's commentary on a Blu ray or DVD but we are getting it now. I look forward to more anecdotes. :yess:

Well, I can't do that (signed NDA's)... but I'll continue to share some Behind-The-Scenes anecdotal stuff from time to time. :duff

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I still don't think what she's doing qualifies as cheating.

He has many reasons to believe she is still alive, despite the odds. She has no reason to believe he is alive, and plenty of reasons to believe he's dead.

This is how I see it....it's technically not cheating if you have strong reasons to believe your spouse has been dead for the last month or so.

Now I try and put myself in Lori's position. If my wife was in the hospital in a coma and this zombie virus breaks out, I would gather up my son and personal belongings and go get my wife out of the hospital and hide somewhere safe. I wouldn't take my son and leave and bang her best friend a few weeks later. Lori and Shane must probably escape the zombie apocalypse together but neither one of them think of going to the hospital to get Rick out? It's just not the way I would handle the situation, so I can't relate to Lori's character or feel bad for her in anyway whatsoever.

Your feelings are all based on assumption though. We do not know if Lori tried to go to the hospital to get Rick or if everyone was told the hospital had been overrun and everyone told to stay away.

And to be honest, NONE of us know how we'd handle this situation. We might think we know, but if/when something like this happens, all bets are off.

I'll say this about Shane (BTS)... The actor playing him (Jon Bernthal) is an extremely cool guy who has two awesome and sweet pit bulls that he takes everywhere and his girlfriend is easily one of the hottest chicks I've ever seen in my life.

If you're gonna "hate" him, do it for that. :lol

Can't add to my "hate" for Shane without pics of the girlfriend.:yess:

I'd like to know more behind the scenes stuff about what we've seen so far, can you share more about what you've been involved with or know up to this point in the tv series?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

And I think that's true of the TV show as well.

I mean that the fact they were having problems makes her cheating now make more sense.

Good point. "Cheating" isn't the right word.

"Fornicating-shortly-after-her-husbands-assumed-death" is what I meant.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

And the scenes where Morales is chopping up the dead zombie and the mask keeps falling off....only to be back on his face mid-swing, lol.

The blood has already coagulated therefore there isn't any blood splatter....Dexter taught us that.:lol

The funny thing was that Rick had blood all over him from wildly chopping and everyone else was clean. And nice catch on the falling mask, heh, more bad editing. Remember when Rick took the gun and put it in his waist, his bare hand was covered in blood. makes you wonder if they're doing this on purpose. Catching this stuff on one take/viewing.

I bet next week, the tool set grows some legs and is right next to the guy.

As for the spouse cheating or whatnot...If the spouse believes her husband is dead, why does she keep the locket/necklass and the wedding ring on? Shes been getting knocked up freely every ep so far, and yet she holds on to these things?

Yea, Crackers not dead, I'd put money on him coming back and causing trouble. Maybe he'll have to saw his own hand off or something.

I agree. To not bring him back would be a huge lost opportunity for conflict.

Just don't know how he'll reach the tools. If they were close buy it doesn't seem like he would have been freaking out so much.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I dunno...if the world was run by zombies, and there was a hot chick around, i'd ____ her. Dont tell me you wouldnt. She probably thinks Rick is dead. Most of the country is dead...so....

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

On the topic of editing. I am not surprised with how fast they shot the first season and were trying to get things together. I am sure season 2 will be much better.

On the topic of cheating and sex in the show. Again like CelticP said...end of the world I would be ____ing every second if I could.

Guts episode was AWESOME.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Didn't like the cheating wife either, what a whore, its been like what, less then a month?

IMO now all he has at the end of the road is his son. Kinda cheapened the whole show for me tbh. I hope she gets eaten and its brutal.

I liked the Organ Donor bit however, I couldn't believe what they got away with showing.

If they follow the comic...
it's brutal, IMO.
:D

She doesn't know he's alive but she doesn't know he's dead. She has a son to remind her lifes worth living, if thats not good enough after so little time then I hope she dies because she doesn't deserve to get her husband/family back.

To me, the way they have presented her from the get go, even in Rick's speech about what she says in front of theyre son, is she doesn't care about anyone but herself. I feel more pity for the guy they left on the roof.

Agreed.

backdoor action to be exact :lecture Keeps her eyes foward in case of a zombie attack.

Tactical thinking! :lecture :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Got the next three trades, so I am up to 9 or issue 54 so far....there's no stopping me...comic is addictive

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I always feel the word whore gets thrown around a bit much by people these days.

Here you have a woman who for all she knows has lost a husband, is trying to live in a world where most everyone wants to eat her brains, may have possibly been saved, along with her son, by a man that she's known for a long time and probably just looking for a bit of comfort or normalcy. I have no idea what I would be doing in a situation like that. I think calling her a whore is a bit unfair.

As for saving his ring, she "was" married to the guy and he "died". It's not like they got divorced. She still loves him. That doesn't go away with "death".
