Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Yeah, that would be fun to watch. I'd like to see a whole miniseries explaining the zombie virus. Why people turn sans zombie bite.

Dunno, if Kirkman would approve though of explaining those ideas; he didn't want to address those issue much.

Wouldnt that be because they get an infectious fever which results in death and because no matter how you die unless the brain is severly damaged, you come back as a walker?

Kinda explained with Jim in Season 1 isn't it? he got bit, got a fever, severely detriorated, passed away and became a walker and hoped to return to his family. Seeing as unless the brain is severely damaged, you become a walker I would think.

But there is the question with the two police officers in Season 2 or why some bodies dont re-animate. Why didnt the two police officers reanimate? Do they still need organs, which is why the Nurse in season 1 who was eaten inside out didnt reanimate? Could not every person reanimate and is affected slightly differently?

Most walkers only seem to have slight physical damage, or singular bites and have bled out or gotten ill. I dont recall any zombies which have actually been devoured completely and are walking skeletons basically.

Its the same in Season 3 with the body armoured riot guards. Did they die through starvation and then return? I dont remember any physical trauma's be it blows or bites, especially as only the neck was exposed so.

Its abit confusing. But rule of thumb ive took, is that Bites cause a fever/infection in which isnt curable, you die, you come back. Unless youve got brain trauma you wont reanimate.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I don't even think Kirkman's thought of an end to the comics. He's always said he easily sees the books following a completely different group (the original members having died off along the way), before he even considers ending it.

Until every human is killed off, then there will never be an end!

I know many people

Think that Rick will be killed off and either A) immediately continues with Carl or B) It will pick up in 5-6 years into the future with Carl more grown up and possibly with Sophia and Andrea

I think if they continue with an entirely new group, it would grab in a whole new audience but possibly lose an old audience. Many like me, love TWD so much because as ive grown up over the past 7 years of reading, the characters have grown up in the TWD world with me. The loss theyve had, ive felt. The joy and sorry theyve had, ive experienced. I'm so heavily invested in the characters that when we lose one, whether im a huge fan or not, its upsetting just like with Glenn. Thats what makes TWD, the attachment to the characters which ive grown with.

A new book would mean totally forgetting the previous cast and started fresh with the will to invest in a whole new group and characters which im not sure I would be interested in.

UNLESS. It would be good if the book was the totally opposite group-wise to the original TWD cast and tag alongs. Imagine a book based around a group like Woodbury or the saviours. It would be good to experience it from that sort of perspective.

Or it could completely backfire and people will hate the new group

Im sure they said the same thing re star trek. I think part of the success of the show is they created this world that ppl like to see (like star trek). Casting would be obviously key but it can done.

I assure you owning a plethora of the zombie garbage (movies) out there, that it's rare and far and few between when good zombie films/television happen. Hell, even the godfather of the genre can't compete with TWD. Survival sucked sweaty donkey balls.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

I don't want to see them change a thing about the show and they sure as hell don't need any spinoffs. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Think about this... Alternating seasons of TWD and TWD:WestCoast. That'd be pretty great.

I smell a fan-fiction boom!

Nah, I smell a ---> :dump

TWD works because it's the best and only series of it's kind. Over-saturate the market, and/or water it down in any way, and you're left with crap. They have a stark focus and will go so far as letting a director like Darabont walk, if that focus is threatened.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

.....and then maybe we can get The Walking Dead - Jersey Shore.:slap

Actually I guess they could benefit from a good ol' zombie infestation.:lol

I'd rather somebody just did a sequel to Zombieland.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

key is to keep "salting and peppering" the group... Herschel and his daughters aren't "original" members, but at this point they are just as relevant. the combination of the writing and acting results in character investment... the show would not work without it.
