I think Merles hand is gonna become a zombie! But I don't believe it was Merles hand. It was a hand but not Merles hand. A hand was there but not Merles. I'm just not sure Merles hand was that hand. Merles hand. Hand of Merles or someone elses hand? Whats going on? I want to eat Merles hand even though its not his hand.

Finally got to watch episode one, had to subscribe through my Ipod to be able to watch it, and I absloutely love it. Wish I could have seen it earlier,but now that I have I have to go watch episode 2 and 3 to catch up.

really wish a channel I have would carry it. 500 stations and I still can't see zombies.

Because we dont know how close they'll stay. So if you say Rick and Shane explode in a fire fight with zombie space pirates, I DONT WANT TO KNOW UNTIL IT DOES OR DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE SHOW!

Well they use spoiler tags for both the new episode, and the comic spoilers. I just read something about other main character's hand being chopped off....so....that's not what i want to read.

I want to discuss the TV show, and TV show only. ____ing DUHHHHHHH Bubble Bass.

It would make sense for comic spoilers to be tagged. I don't think tv spoilers are as important; if you're not caught up with the show, you should stay out of the thread.

I was just thinking that the door being chained doesn't mean that no zombies got through. Their heads were nearly through at the start of the episode. One of them could have squeezed in.

Also, there was blood on the cuff while Merle was still in them. If he yanked his hand out, that would explain it too.

I agree Dev. I didnt watch the episode until today, so I didnt come into this thread until today.

But I click the spoilers, one dealing with Merle's hand sawed, and the other, another character getting his hand sawed in the comics. Bah.

I had been assuming spoilers were safe too. Someone had started the precedent of noting which ones were comic spoilers, but not everyone follwed suit. I got nailed too. Luckily, I've developed a talent for forgetting things.

I agree that those who have read the comics should put comments taken from the comics in spoilers

but if you haven't read the comics I wouldn't worry about it too much as the tv show has already deviated from the comics. It looks like the show will be more along the lines of "inspired by" the comic and less a literal interpretation.

By the way, if anyone's enjoying this show, I recommend you check out Dead Set, which was a 5-episode miniseries that aired in the UK in 2008. The premise is interesting - a zombie apocalypse is going on while the houseguests on the latest season of Big Brother are oblivious. Until, of course, the zombies start showing up at the house...

im VERY impressed with the walking dead. ive just finished watching the first 3 episodes in a row and im hooked. cant wait for the next episode now.

Can a zombie hand crawl by itself? Maybe a zombie was trying to get through the door so badly, that his hand pulled off and crawled over to Merle.

Good show so far. Not sure about the hand, but if he did cut it off he is an idiot, all he needed to cut off is the thumb and the rest would slip right out. That is if the hacksaw was too dull to cut the cuffs chain in the first place. I think it's time they went to a Ford dealership and got several F350 Pickup trucks so that they could drive right over the Walkers, I don't care how many there are an F350 would plow over them like sticks .
