Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Yesterday I ordered The Walking Dead Compendium #1, it has issues 1-48! I should have it by Thursday. :yess:

Can anybody tell me what issue they are up to?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I find it preferable to buy the 6-issue paperbacks as it minimizes wait time between installments. I used to buy the monthly issues, but it simply wasn't cost-effective.

But considering that 48 issues represents roughly 4 years of comics, you might find yourself waiting quite a while for volume 2.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Anyone else think Merle Dixon is a slam against Mel Gibson? The names sound quite similar. Merle's a racist, misogynist and has an addiction problem. He's got anger issues, off his rocker. Calls Andrea 'sugartits' which i believe is a Gibson catch phrase. And then there is the handcuff thing, shades of Mad Max which I was watching last night. Plus, Merle's a newly created character for the show i believe. Think this could be a thinly veiled slam of Gibson by Darabont or the writers or just a coincidence.

Can a zombie hand crawl by itself? Maybe a zombie was trying to get through the door so badly, that his hand pulled off and crawled over to Merle. :lol

:D

When "On Golden Pond" decapitated the zombie in the camp, its mouth kept opening and closing until "Prince Redneck" shot it in the brain with an arrow. I doubt a hand would be able to crawl on its own. It would still have to be attached to the brain via the old song, "wrist bone connected to the forearm bone, etc..."

...Merle Dixon...Calls Andrea 'sugartits' ...

Damn, I thought that was her last name. ;)

I don't think so. While Mel has used that phrase it existed long before him. Merle is an archetype of a traditional Southern redneck, his brother too being excited by catching squirrel to eat? Literally all the stuff we've seen in the media about Rednecks in the south are instilled in both of those characters. I would wager that its a severe coincidence.

Yea I am not sure when they will release the second one. If they will wait until another 48 or not.

I don't mind buying the smaller paperbacks to get caught up. I'm sure the book for issue 49-54(?) is already out right?

The paperbacks are about as current as you can get. Volume 13 comes out next week which will include 73-78.

79 is the next issue coming out.

If I remember correctly my local shop said compendium 2 is due either in December or early Jan.
