Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Hes been in a handful of small gang member parts that I can remember, first time I saw him was in Training Day. I think Oz and BIBO were before his time.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Watched it this morning. What a great freaking show. Loved it when all Hell broke loose at the end. :rock

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I really enjoyed this weeks episode, solid from beging to end for me.

Sux that theres only 2 left :(

I think its kinda funny that the beaner who got shot in the ass with the arrow is cast in everything when a gangster mexican is needed :lol

I was thinking the same thing! He was also is Bruce Almighty in a similar role, he's always the same character in every movie/show I've seen him in. LOL!

I know I should despise the character but does anyone else enjoy Daryl Dixon? I'm really liking this character but I wonder how he'll act when him and Merle are reunited - if that happens.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Yea, I kinda like Daryl - he's not the total ass his brother is. He's hotheaded, but he listens to reason, and he's willing to let Rick lead. There's a begrudging respect there between the two that works.

And I loved how he used his brother's hand!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

i didn't hate the episode, but i agree the story was kinda weak til about 3/4 way thru. personally i thought the guy who played guillermo was a terrible actor. he kept gesticulating and bobbing his head way more than is necessary even for a "ghetto gangsta". :lol

but what caught me (pleasantly) by surprise was how the standoff between rick's and guillermo's group was resolved. the little old lady just popped outta nowhere and diffused the animosity. she was so cute! it pretty much single-handedly redeemed the whole episode, imo. yet another example of the nice little moments of humanity that shine thru in such a bleak world. that's what makes this series way above the average zombie show.

and the attack on the camp at the end was pretty cool too. frankly, i didn't care about any of the characters that got offed, but i liked the chaos and the tension in the scene. really well-played.

overall, not as good as the previous episodes, but still a good watch...

He was a custodian playing a gangsta, so he probably did overact it a bit.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Wasn't he in Oz?

Maybe it was Blood In, Blood Out. I know I've seen him in a lot of stuff.

Training Day is where I remember him from.

What a great scene.

I was thinking the same thing. He was in the Shield for a bit too.

:exactly::goodpost: I'm glad to know there are others who like Daryl too. I hope he sticks around for awhile. The actor who plays him was in the Boondock Saints movies (first one was awesome, second one was meh), so while he isn't an unknown, he could hopefully stick around. The actor who plays his brother Merle (Michael Rooker) has been in several movies so I wonder how much he will be around.

Question of the week: What happened to Merle?:panic:

I am sure Michael Rooker isn't up to much else these days. :)

I detected that too. There might be hope for him but it remains to be seen what will happen when hes reunited with Merle. Still you'd have to wary of the fact that he obviously holds racist views like his brother and he takes rather too much pleasure in killing zombies.

Michael Rooker always plays bad guys, apart from Cliffhanger.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Whatever issue I had after ep 2 is gone...loving the show - changes are cool, but not extreme...overall story in pretty intact....liking the new characters too

Ep 4 was pretty darn good I thought...line at the end about, 'I remember what my dream was about' was pretty creepy i thought....

This show is pretty much perfectly cast, IMO.....

I am especially liking how they do all the characters their little moments - the watch scene - scene with bastard dad and dtr.......helps to make the characters feel as real as they could on a tv show.

Bring on the last 2 ep for this season!!!!!

While he isn't squeamish about killing zombies, I can't recall him expressing pleasure over killing them either. I just think he has a pragmatic (not that he would know what that word meant) view about it. He knows they are not human anymore and they need to be put down like a rabid animal.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Maybe but lets say he had been present in the scene in episode 2 where they chop up a zombie to dsguise themselves in his flesh and blood - I could see him sneering at Rick for his sentimental hesitation had he been there.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Daryl is a hunter - like Ski said, he just seems pragmatic about it. Again, Merle clearly enjoyed it, going out of his way to kill them. We haven't seen Daryl doing that, and in fact, he goes out hunting to feed the group rather than doing that little recon into town. If he really got off on killing them, he'd put himself in a position to do it whenever possible.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Man, I feel stupid. It took two full episodes before I finally figured out that Darryl is played by the actor who played one of the brothers in The Boondock Saints. :slap

And I think that he played skud in Blade 2 but I'm not totally sure about that.
