I think they are the Hunters, or at least this shows version of them. I'm also not so sure Beth was kidnapped by them. The car had a cross in the rear window and it got me thinking it could be the priest they they come across in the comics. Who knows at this point.

That's the only connection that I can make out, the cross on the back, but it's a loose connection

like you said, at this point, who knows

Whilst he's a great character I'd quite like to see him bite the dust this season. Currently the show is far too safe and predictable. I hope the writers have written something decent for the season 4 finale.

But if that's the case then take Glenn out. He has been pretty useless so far. about the show being too safe and predictable, I just don't get why Daryl has to be the one to go? Why not take out Carol?

Red Wedding is a Game of Thrones reference. On a show with as many characters as GOT, it is a lot easier to kill off many of your "main" characters. I am enjoying WD as it is and dont need to have main character killed off on a regualr basis to enjoy it.

If they kill off Rick, Daryl and and Glenn like some are suggesting, can you imagine what kind of a show you'd have left?

I'd much rather see Glen go than Carol. I haven't cared about his character in a long time.

Well with the exception of Rick you'd have status quo in the comics. :dunno

I think y'all had better prepare yourselves for a shift in cast. :horror

Daryl as a character doesn't really have anywhere else to go. If he was a one minute burrito he would have about 5 seconds left in the microwave.

To be honest I don't really care for any of the characters. Obviously there's ones like Glenn and Maggie that I'd be happier to see gone. The luxury the writers have is that they can introduce new characters whenever they want, all they have to do is make them likeable and memorable.

To me the comment is also touching on the fact that the show doesn't do anything to challenge the viewer's expectations.

Rick, Carl, Michonne, and Carol are the only characters worth living. They're the only ones that have done anything even remotely interesting in this second half of the season. Though, I'm anxious to see where this "Daryl and the hunters" thing goes, especially if they all decide to go to Terminus too.

Glenn, Maggie, Sasha, Bob, Daryl and Beth episodes have been nothing but snooze fests. They could have easily had their little "journeys" and the character development two episodes ago. The whole "I wanna drink"/Golf club house was awful, why not just set up the house and kidnapping instead? It's not like we learned anything new about Daryl or Beth. I also really don't need to see Sasha, Bob and Maggie go back and forth over and over again. "Let's all go together", "nah let's be alone" for a half an hour straight, just go!

I don't mind "filler", but not when it's so blatant.

That's what I thought yeah. Why was that worth devoting an episode to? This character wants to do this and the other character is willing to follow, but the other character doesn't so the first character goes off on her own and the other two characters follow her until they decide to separate too. Then the third character happens to find the first character and they come to an agreement to go right back on the course they were originally going on where they catch up to the second character and they all walk on again. WTF. Waste.

:exactly:

I think it's been spread too thin with jumping from 4 sets of groups.

Everybody should be fair game

for this to be the case they need more characters and have them be more interesting. Or they are going to need to entirely kill off the group and start with a new group (which is what the new show is technically, focusing on a new group)

Right now we don't have enough characters to just kill everyone off. Or to kill the most interesting and fan favorite characters. I know it probably works in the comic but in TV is way different.

You need to have characters you care about or the show fails. And I am not talking about what they did in the prison with a bunch of nobodies that the audience didn't care about, If they really want to kill big important characters then the group should be at least twice the size with characters that people know and recognize.

Seems like the show is putting itself into a corner again with this whole "NO ONE IZ SAFE" business.

:exactly: Merle came full circle before dying. We've seen Daryl cry and now we've seen him in love. The circle is complete.

Errr no. That's what they're doing. That's what's boring.

I'm surprised how many people are ignoring the substantial character development, claiming it's mindless zombie slaughter, yet, ironically, begging for just that under the guise of character development. :lol
