Please point to the specific examples of extreme hostility. The only manner of extremism I see are the overreactions by those who want to nitpick the show to bits, unable to take it as a whole. Also, a "critique, no matter how small" is also defined as a nitpick.
Some people are being way too touchy and quick to take on the mantle of victim at the first sign of conflict. Damn.
Reading down the rest of the tread, you're not the only one.
And maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I haven't seen the word troll used really, except by those claiming to be victims of such name-calling.
My real problem is with the nitpickers who have to make sure to find something wrong with every episode and MUST run to the internet to tell everyone. Somehow they never fail to be in front of their TV at 9pm Sunday.
However, anything else I disagree with should not be taken personally. That's kindy-garden stuff there. If you believe in what you're saying, your feelings shouldn't be hurt when someone else disagrees. Unless they make it a personal attack, which I don't believe I have.
I'm not one of those calling people ADD and children, except when it comes to the boys and their double-standard when it comes to female fans vs male fans.
All that said, does the season end with upbeat relief, or bloody conflict?
goes both ways, if you dont like reading people complaining why even come here then? to start crap and argue, admit it...
