Please point to the specific examples of extreme hostility. The only manner of extremism I see are the overreactions by those who want to nitpick the show to bits, unable to take it as a whole. Also, a "critique, no matter how small" is also defined as a nitpick. ;)
Some people are being way too touchy and quick to take on the mantle of victim at the first sign of conflict. Damn.
Reading down the rest of the tread, you're not the only one.
And maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I haven't seen the word troll used really, except by those claiming to be victims of such name-calling.

My real problem is with the nitpickers who have to make sure to find something wrong with every episode and MUST run to the internet to tell everyone. Somehow they never fail to be in front of their TV at 9pm Sunday.

However, anything else I disagree with should not be taken personally. That's kindy-garden stuff there. :) If you believe in what you're saying, your feelings shouldn't be hurt when someone else disagrees. Unless they make it a personal attack, which I don't believe I have.
I'm not one of those calling people ADD and children, except when it comes to the boys and their double-standard when it comes to female fans vs male fans. :D

All that said, does the season end with upbeat relief, or bloody conflict? :D

goes both ways, if you dont like reading people complaining why even come here then? to start crap and argue, admit it...

Wasn't one of the trapped inmates from the beginning of season 3 scratched on the shoulder? He didn't have time to turn, but Rick was ready to end him before machete-head stepped in and relished the opportunity.

I'm indifferent about the whole contamination aspect of the show. I do think a higher risk of infection adds more tension (28 Days Later), but I don't think it would work with TWD.

Didn't that walker rip it's arm out of handcuffs and shove its bloody bone into his shoulder? The infected blood was entered directly into his system.

Agreed on the infection angle. In a movie, or even series of movies, it makes more sense to have such a danger. But in a TV show spanning so many years, the whole thing would be them shuffling along to nowhere under a tarp for fear that any speck would touch them. LOL

sometimes I wonder if you are a fake account or not... haven't figured it out yet
(leaning towards yes)

That's usually the direction people head in when they run across a new ID they don't like on the internet. Surely it must be someone else they don't already like! How boring. And paranoid.
Rest assured. New account. Do want to put my blood in a petri dish and put a hot wire to it?

But if you'd rather make it personal and take your shots at me, rather than address what I actually said versus what you thought I said and reacted to, then that's all on you. :)

Its just like any given figure or PF thread. Some people voice their criticisms, maybe certain people do it repeatedly, this tires out the happy-go-lucky camp who proceed to lash out at those guys - but they aren't specific about who they are directing their comments at - they make the usual generalities 'don't like it, don't buy it/don't like it don't watch it' - your variation was funny as I recall, I chuckled, but still, it didn't distinguish between the guys who have been picking at the show since season 2 and the guys (me and Difab) who have only started criticising very recently, maybe 3 episodes at most. Fair enough ''don't like it don't watch it'' if you persevered through season 2, 3 and now 4 and are still here slagging the hell out of it. Hoodonit00 was the most recent in a long line of people rehashing it. Doesn't apply to me and Difabio though so if you level that one at us we WILL react.

Now, I hasten to add, your follow-up post I did read and I was satisfied that you accepted what I had said as regards my own position. I guess I'm just restating it now in light of this more recent post.

I wasn't here for any season before this latter half, so I don't know the score on who the perpetual complainers are versus the viewers feeling legitimately let down recently.
So far the majority of complaints I've come across are petty things that make little or no difference in the show and its direction.

So tell me, A-Dev, so I can get the score right, what are your latest gripes about the direction of the show?
I'm asking earnestly.

I don't have a clue who the perpetual complainers are either, if they ever existed or if they're even still here. That's the thing about these tired generalities being thrown around, no one actually knows, no one keeps track. I was simply explaining why I myself would react the way I have yesterday and today if those generalities are gonna be thrown in my direction.

And I certainly have no desire to go back into the particulars of my complaints about the show of late. Clearly nothing comes of that. Also Nam reminded me that there is interesting stuff ahead even if it isn't all happening right now.

Fair enough.
And Nam has a point about the ebb and flow and interesting things coming. It seems most arguments arise during those down times between those who enjoy the ebb as much as the flow, and those who don't. Just like in music, sometimes the silence can be important as the notes.

By George I think you nailed it. :exactly:

I have enjoyed previous ebbs in this show, I don't know quite what it is at the moment that's boring me to the degree that all the little things are annoying me etc etc. But yeah, I can easily see it getting interesting again.

This is the first time the group has been so splintered where multiple stories can't be handled well enough in a couple of episodes, but instead become multiple episodes focusing on small numbers. It's a format change from before and I can see how that might be jarring with the general path the show has taken before.
For me, I welcome the change. It's kept it fresher to get some more insight into characters, as opposed to the group merely trekking to god-knows-where to do the same thing as they tried in the prison.

We're heading into a whole new dynamic, both how the group(s) will merge into Terminus, and how they will react to each other after being apart and each growing in certain ways.

That's probably it, slightly different format. They won't keep it this way. Judging by possible spoilers in the other thread the very next episode could see some dramatic things happen.
