I'm rewatching season 1, the walkers act so differently. They climb, rest, act more human. As with the walkers now, they are more zombie like. I wonder if this was deliberate? The more time goes by, the more the walkers are slower, dumber.

I don't know, some of them were moving pretty fast at times. Maybe it just depends on how long they were walkers. A lot of the ones the first season were "new" yet. :lol

weren't they also trying to break windows with rocks in the first season or did i make that up? when they are in the department store...

You forgot the BBQed ones. Mmm Mmm!

Nicotero on Talking Dead: crispy and extra crispy. :lol

Yup, same with the color scheme of the walkers too. They've gone from being for the most part unique with minimal applications in most cases, to a more matted mish-mash of grays and browns with heavy applications.

I really thought Carol would confess that Lizzie killed Karen and then she burned the bodies in an effort to protect her which obviously was a mistake.

I feel that it is just because of all the different showrunners they have had,

Obviously when they first made the show they had a different idea of how to make the walkers act and move. I do not think it is because time has passed that they are slower and dumber.

By season 2 they were already different, season 1 walkers are not like any other walker I've seen after season 1 ended. I kind of wish they brought that style of "smarter" walker back, it would make things interesting

What noises did the walkers make in season one? Was that different aswell. These days they use the same ''rarrrgghagrhhhhhh'' vocalisation for every walker, no matter what they're doing.

Has it? Honestly wasn't sure. It just reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel where they would use the exact same generic 'man going ''rrrrarrrrrghhhuuurrrgghhharrrrgghh''' into a microphone effect for every vampire and demon. I used to wish they would at least mix it up a bit with some animal sounds. I could put on a costume and go raaarrrgghhh, not very scary.

In regards to the idea of time passing and the walkers breaking down, it makes perfect sense. They're still biological in nature, and since they're comprised of dead tissue already, they're constantly decomposing, albeit slower than normal it seems. Eventually the tide can turn in favor of the living once enough of them break down enough to just fall and continue turning into dust.

It was mentioned on TDD about a producer who was talking about how, since their eyesight is decaying along with the rest of them, it's clear why walkers are drawn to fire as they are to movement. And that's why they ended up charred, because they just moved towards what they perceived as movement.

I always assumed it was because its harder for them to find food so they become weaker and slower. More walkers=less humans for them to dine on.

Me too. Small twist that she did in fact kill Karen and the other guy.

I don't think it's the EXACT same sound for every zombie. :lol I think it's the individual actors mimicking that noise themselves with the exception of needing something in post where a plane, background noise, or effect might've interfered where a crew member might lay down the track in place of the actor.

Half way through the and I thought it wasn't just another one of those episodes but then bang, they go and kill off the two kids. It took some guts to do that but I'm sure the majority of people living in that world understand it as the greater good.

What would've really been shocking is if they actually showed Carol shooting her. I know when in the very first episode Rick shot that little girl walker, it shocked the **** out of me!

One of the things I liked about this episode was how Carol saw herself as being more like Lizzie than Mika. How Mika wouldn't survive in this world; which she didn't. However, the end scene with the deer showed how Carol was more like Mika.

On TD, Melissa said she didn't shoot the deer because she wasn't hungry after all she had been through. I don't think it meant she was like Mika.
