Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

HT muscle torsos aren't all that much bigger than a regular TT torso (at least the Royce/Dastan size), its mostly just the arms. But I do think the Dastan rounds him out nicely. Rick wasn't huge, but he wasn't a twig either.

You're definitely right, Dastan body is probably the way to go. I actually just bought one for Rick. So I guess no neck is the best option.

Converted in one hour. :yess:

Dang I'm good :lol

You are good, I'll give you that. I really wanted to go for the muscle body but it was just the fact that they are so damned expensive and I knew the adv tt was cheaper but I rather the figure look really good rather that good. Also, I've posted it before but this might be my last "big" custom I'm doing. I'm still going to do bashes but not near as many as I was doing. Mainly because I just got a car and I have loans for the first time in my life. It sucks. Welcome to adulthood I guess.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

A muscle body just seems like a waste on this figure because the forearms are the only thing that benefit, and the TT Advanced has a pretty good sculpt to them.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

The headsculpt is useless for making a Rick though :lol

Is the long neck piece from the TT Narrow the same diameter as the Advanced and/or the Royce bodies?

I'm also wondering this because if the sculpt is neckless not everyone will be using the same body. One other problem you run into with neckless is matching the head sculpt color to the neck color of body being used. Unless that is for the sculpts Scott is painting he is willing to match sculpt colors to the neck colors of bodies that each person is using. If not, the figure could look hideous. The exact reason I prefer the sculpt with a neck. I would much rather sacrifice the detail in the forearms rather then have a two tone figure who looks like he is wearing a mask.

Hello Deckard! If there's still time, please put me down for a painted Rick w/o hat sculpt.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

I know I'd prefer a neckless sculpt as to me it offers more choices for the least amount of work. No neck fits on muscle bodies, Hot Toys, Soldier Story, Triad Evo/Alpha, even Ken(if you're into the kind of thing) and with a $5 part it fits on everyone else. Plus I just like the subtle poses I can get, the slight head tilt to the side that looks thoughtful or in Rick's case the dropped chin as he stares down a zombie.

I´d also prefer neckless, but if most of people want neck, that´s okay as well, no prob.

As for the face expression, I like the magazine cover pose that most of you want so that´s perfect :)

List Updated, I picked up the DVDs last night, screen caps coming as soon as I get some more time.

Personally I would like the sculpted neck. If you dont want it, then it is fairly easy to just cut off anyway.

Hmmm to neck or not to neck... It seems like the best option would be for me to sculpt it with a neck so those who want to can modify it to fit whichever body they are using. If I made it neckless I fear we might run into problems with the opening being possibly too big or too small for all the various bodies out there.

Like I said a couple pages back, im interested but it is a personal rule of mine to see a prototype before I commit.

Its not that I don't trust Velvet's talents, its just that quality varies widely among customs on these boards and I like to know what I am getting.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

My only concern with modifying the head on the back end is I'm getting mine painted. It's one thing to try to match an awesome paint job when painting a third party neck adaptor. A shade or two off and it can be hidden with a shirt collar or just not noticable because of the clear line of demarkation. It is another to have to repaint the side of a face because the paint flaked while I was dremeling the neck off or having the resculpt/paint the hair when resin cracks funny.
