Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE P.12 PLEASE READ

Why don't we do this, why don't we sculpt him with a neck, and then you guys can take a look and say if u think it should be removed before the final sculpt is finsihed and casted? Would this be do-able/appropriate Scott?

Doable:wink1:. I will sculpt it with a neck. If you are ordering a painted sculpt from me and you need the neck modified to fit a certain body I will do this for you before I do the painting. If you're using a body other than the TT Narrow or TT Advanced (ie Royce etc) I'll need the body in hand to fit it properly. We can work that out when the time comes.

Does this sound okay?

Looking forward to the screen grabs Deckard! That'll be a big help.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

Sounds perfect Scott. Let me know when you are ready and I'll send my Dastan body out to you.

Deckard, update me to painted then. I wasn't sure if Velvet was going to be able to paint mine if I had to chop his neck off, but since he seems willing, then definately painted. :rock

Who would have thought neck vs no neck would bring this thread back from the dead! :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

Will do.

Just sent Scott the first round of screen caps!

For realzies, I'll sent you the body I will be using Monday. Thank you so much.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

The expression is the same save for the eyes. I'd say inbetween, more closed eyed then the cover shot but more open then the screengrab.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

I agree. Like the mouth of the screen grab and somewhere in between on the eyes. On the magazine cover his brows seem too arched and not very determined looking. Screen grab too squinty. In most of the reference pics I have he seems to have more expressive eyebrows with wider eyes.

I started sculpting last night, got it mostly blocked in and I am going to start working on getting the expression down today.....

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

Going through the screen grabs Deckard supplied, came across this one:
Think I'm going to be heading in this direction. like or dislike?

Hey guys- Started sculpting the other day. Here is an early work in progress pic. There's still plenty more to do. Useful suggestions are welcome.

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato

That looks killer Scott :rock

My only suggestion is that the expression incorporate his brow more (if that makes sense)? I didn't even realize this until I looked at your sculpt, but Grimes is almost always being expressive through his brow it seems like :)

Re: The Walking Dead - by Velvet Morning & Kato - UPDATE PG. 24!

I think the eyes should be a little more sunken in.
