The surgery was off-screen. The stabbing wasn't gory at all. The action was a big let down, overall.

This movie could have used some more realistic violence, along the lines of Dredd. Maybe not that far, but it would have fit the tone better than what we got.

That's why I like the unrated version better. Made the movie more "colorful" which better fit Wolverine.

Dredd > The Wolverine

I like to think it was Emma Jr. The timeline adds up, somewhat. Since that Emma looked like she was an early teen in the 80's, and FC Emma looked like she was bordering on mom territory in the 60's. Granted, I'm probably totally off base, but, if it means one less cluster**** to fix. **** it, I'll take it.:lol

I suppose, if that's the logic they went with, they could always take some artistic liberties and make Havoc Scott's dad, instead of his brother, as well.

Well there's nothing in the movies to suggest they're related so that's not an issue.

As for Emma. for me, one was Kaylas sister and the others was Emma Frost

The most violent PG-13 movie post 90's is still Casino Royale. That movie is brutal.

I think something recently upstaged it....but I can't remember it. It wasn't The Wolverine.

And gore can absolutely change the film. It can instill a new tone. Which could make the film better, and more adult and gritty.

Fixing Emma and the rest of the Mistakes continuity errors in Origins is easy.

NOTHING past Logan getting his adamantium actualy happened. it's all a drug-induced halucination and/or simulation created by th weapon X program for his testing and training.

Some events DID transpire, and he DID end up fighting... SOMETHING at Three Mile island, but it wasn't Wade. What WE saw on screen, was what Logan Halucinated.

Havok is generaly considered the Younger Brother.

X-men came out in 2000. if we Assume that Scott Summers was in his 30's ( considering he was teaching at the institute, it's not a streatch) we could simpy make him the younger brother instead, and Havok now works as the older brother. Easy, peasy.

Kinda wish they'd left Rogue's parantage alone, speaking of parents. her original story was kinda cool, if weird as hell.

On Topic. Finaly watched "the Wolverine".

On the whole, I enjoyed it. the stupid samurai insanity, and heated adamantium cutting through itself was more than dumb, but that's my only REAL complaint.

Cold, Hard Metal would Cleave through Superheated metal ( as heat makes metal maleable) not the other way around. That was the only moment that it broke suspension of disbelief for me.

it WAs really good, and it MOSTLY redeems the movies to this point.
Putting japan in Logan's future,m then putting future logan in the past, so japan is now part of his history, is a pretty cool way to handle it too.

Thats what harms your suspension of disbelief in a movie about an ancient dude with claws that pop out of his body who heals from pretty much any wounds inflicted and he runs around with telepaths, weather controllers, and teleporters when hes not jetting around the world to fight snake women and senior citizen mecha.

Okay :lol

finally was able to catch this (In 3D HD no less)

To me this was really awful. really Boring. I barely could finish this.

I have never read the Wolverine books or anything but This barely had to do with Mutants or X men, This could have easily been a movie with Jason Statham or The Rock, Change the character of Wolverine into a human character (remove the mutant aspect of the girl and Wolverine) and it would make no much difference.

Maybe that makes me ignorant of the story or Wolverine, I will admit to that, But I just really hated this. I was really bored by it The action scenes did nothing for me
And that ending... Holy cow WTF was that ending about :lol:lol that has to be one of the most idiotic endings I've ever seen to a movie. :rotfl

I know I am probably the minority, Since I hear most people like this.. but wow this really sucked for me.

Did you dislike it more than X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

Yeah, I'm the opposite. I really had a blast seeing this movie.

Mostly because I've done armorsmithing and blacksmithing semi-professionally at one point. Much the same way the girl using the computer in Jurassic park breaks it for real users of heat system.

I understand the real physics of that, so it shuts it down mentally for me.
Metal dosn't work that way. You make metal hot, it. Becomes mailable and soft. It allows it to be workable, able to be folded and cut like clay.

It hurts it Doubly so for adamantium, as they established within the fiction of he films that once it's becomes solid, adamantium is completely un-breakable.
(X-men 2)

So yeah, in a fantasy setting, unless they give a reason on screen, they can't break the laws of physics.
Yes, wolverine is an impossible person with impossible powers. But the reason given for his abilities is hat he is a mutant. He exists in a world with other crazy people with crazy powers.

Something as simple as "this is super adamantium. It's ten thousand times more pure than what weapon x used on you, so it's stronger and harder. If we heat up your claws, we c an even cut them off using a super adamantium blade" or some such would have gone a long way for me.

Yeah, I'm the opposite. I really had a blast seeing this movie.

Nothing is as bad as that :lol

Okay, I will say this, This movie could have been okay if it was not a Wolverine or X men movie. It really had nothing to do with either one.

Like I said, take out the part about the old guy wanting to live forever, Change some stuff around, Replace the character with Jason Statham and you would really have your typical Jason movie.
(Down to the character rescuing a helpless girl and ending up sleeping with her, Which Jason Statham has done like 5 times already)

And Origins: Wolverine sucked, But At least it had mutants and it was a x men movie. That movie was really bad but for me it fits in the universe. This really doesn't

And to be honest I didn't hate the movie as much (Just found it Boring) But then when the giant robot showed up and the fight began, I just took off my 3D glasses and said F- this movie......
Then when we see the old guy.... I just never want to see this ever again. To be honest the ending to X Men Origins was not as bad

I wish someone would have recorded that reaction. :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

It was one of the few times I actually got really pissed at watching a movie.... that was just Too cheesy.

So....basically you wanted a Jason Statham movie and not a Wolverine movie? Because taking out everything you've said you'd take out just makes it a completely different movie....

I truly believe the only thing wrong with this film is the unneeded boss battle at the end. It suffers from "Bioshock syndrome".

Silver Samurai is he only actual super anything Logan fights. Everyone else is in a ninja boy band or an Uma Thurman wannabe.

If Viper had been the only villain with powers you would have hated that even more.

One thing that bothered me is that I thought Wolverine was supposed to be this great fighter. James Bond would've done a better job. James Bond with Wolverine's healing factor would be ****ing unstoppable.
