Just caught up with the Rumble, bit slow on the viewing.
Here are a few of my thoughts on the show:
Del Rio/Big Show - I actually really liked this match, its nice to see Show do something other than make me drowsy. A finish that could of been a bit gimmicky but actually suited the circumstance.
Hell No/Scholars - Tag matches tend to get a little predictable, it was however pretty engaging.
The Rumble - A great number 2 entrant, and overall a good Rumble. i do understand the finish, it would be good to have a up-and-comer take the spotlight at WM but they already have a set up with Cena and Rock, problem for me was their first match was pretty standard and i am not very pumped about a sequel, Rock/Punk II, now that would be worth the money.
Rocks promo before the match felt off, his eyes darting off to the side for possible cues and his shouty delivery whist missing his points and jumbling his words felt very unusual for such a mic technician, The Rock can and should of done better there.
Rock/Punk - The result i expected, felt bad for Punk who is a genuine brilliant talent. Have Punk at WM in the main event against anyone and im sure its going to be a brilliant bout, maybe after Elimination Chamber the main event landscape at WM changes??
Also like TNA i think WWE needs to drop 3/4 PPVs a year, 3 weeks until EC feels like the shine of a big show has been tarnished or dulled. WWE feels like a Michael Bay movie, all fast pace, tons of pyro and little emphasis on real long term well thought out story's (CM Punks reign was long term yes, but the way him and Rock came about was mostly Twitter, very little on screen build up)
Long post i know, but i wanted to get my immediate post-Rumble thoughts out.
