I'm having a hard time with the Jack Swagger thing... He was jobbing to EVERYONE in August and now he's wrestling for the WHC at WM after only being back in action for three weeks? I guess the WWE is pretty hot to rehash the Eddie v JBL storyline but this just seems out of nowhere...

I remember when JBL was Justin Hawk Bradshaw and he went through a time when he jobbed to a lot to wrestlers like Jake the Snake Roberts. Guess who used to follow him into the ring?
Even Triple H or Hunter as he was at the time had a rough patch where he jobbed for a year. I do think they could have re-built up Swagger a little slower though.

Thinking about it Swagger going after the World Heavyweight title will probably open Wrestlemania, and to be honest the title has the prestige of the IC Title before the WCW belts went over to the WWE.

I don't think Mantel had much of anything to do with JBL's eventual success. I do think he is necessary for Swagger though (or someone who can speak) because Swagger just can't.

And I think you are being unfair re: the IC title. In the old days, the IC title was much more prestigious than the Smackdown world title is nowadays

Seriously though, I think some of us remember how much folks cared about it when Macho Man feuded with Steamboat, when Bret Hart beat Mr. Perfect then lost to Bulldog, and when Razor Ramon feuded with HBK and Jeff Jarrett, etc.. 10 years from now, who the heck is gonna remember Mark Henry's Smackdown title run, or Jack Swagger's, or Great Khali's, or even del Rio's? Not that folks will remember the Raw title much better. . .

I dig the new belt. Certainly not a timeless look like the WCW belt or some of the older WWE belts, but it's miles ahead of the spinner.

I don't see a spot for the champion's name though...

I think the Wrestler's symbol is replacing the name, so when Rock loses the Bulls will come off and they will put whatever that goofball Cena's logo is at the moment.
The replica has the WWE logo on the side

Hustle, Loyalty, Respect logo is the one they'll be using. I like it the belt, I've stopped living in the past. The classic style belts are too bland for current WWE. Hence why the WHC is pretty much the new IC.

The Smackdown championship is the new IC championship because. . .it makes for more exciting television? To me, it just makes everything mean that much less, which makes for less compelling TV.

Big props to DDP for helping out Jake and now Scott. Jake looks much better and been sober for over 60 days. I really hope that DDP can help Scott after watching this.

Jack Swagger is "meh" on his best day. Solid worker no doubt, but charisma is zero. His push will almost certainly be squashed after this.

I keep wondering about that. Not sure if the MITB expired prior to Wrestlemania, or if it could be cashed in at Wrestlemania. If the former, he has no chance of successfully cashing it in at this point. The title matches are set (I though Punk might sneak his way in making Cena/Rock a 3-way dance, but after last night I don't think it's gonna happen). So I guess you are right. If this were real, all championship contenders at WM would pay for an armed bodyguard to protect them after their match ended to avoid being pinned by Ziggler, and to make him forfeit the contract

MITB expires in July.
