Right now I'm in a very intense graduate school program that is really stressful most of the time. On top of that I have other family issues that is causing alot of stress as well. For me, my collectibles are a distraction, perusing the board and the dealers sites allows me a little reprieve, an escape from reality if you will.

Myself as well....Sanctuary..Sanctuary!!! Collecting helps me regress to the child that didn't get much throughout the year but had a helluva Christmas! Nowadays kids want everything...NOW! I don't envy parents in today's world. God bless you all.

Its not a clutter issue at all actually... I love my 1:6ers too... Sometimes I just wonder if the money could have been better spent elsewhere... I dunno. Its not like my family is going without anything or sacrificing any of their wants because of my collecting.

I think I'm just feeling a wee bit blue and my toys are the scapegoat. :( :pow :crying

Sounds like you're masking a deep seaded anxiety to purchase items as an escape from the world's stress. No problem. You can always sell them for around what you paid or more.

'Don't remove them from the original packaging. They lose their value!' ... The 40 year old virgin.

I've stated this earlier, but to reiterate what Darren and others have said, buy what you really want and you'll enjoy it more. I had so much Hasbro junk at one point that I had to keep some in storage, how do you enjoy that? I never saw what I had, it's like having a collection of Cd's and never listening to them. I was keeping toys that I didn't really want and keeping them prisoner! I was a victim of being a completist, I had to have the battle Droid with the white mark and the one with the battle damage , etc. etc. etc. and I didn't even LIKE the battle droids!
I've sold everything off and now I get pleasure just by looking at the few Star Wars 1/6 that I have.

They remind of my youth, a safe haven , if you will , of when the world was a different place....and I enjoy them more because I know there's no clutter.

As far as spending the money goes, I see it this way, I buy what I can afford and for me it's money well spent because it makes me happy. I can think of so many ways that I can blow my money in this world and have nothing to show for it.

Bottom line is now that I'm married and father I make my family my priority, but when I can I still buy a few items that I really like.

It appears the High Priest has been invigorated with new life! Hope all is well, Pix--may your spirit be ever quickened and renewed with light and hope!!!

I know how you feel Marc... I've been down this road recently myself and I just realized I had far too much. I refocused onto characters I know I want and am not getting any more than those few that I listed in my mind. No matter what.

And I hope you feel better dude.... I'll send you some progress pics tonight... maybe those will cheer you up. :D

Thanks guys.

The day I posted this thread I had a massive allergy attack which ended with a HOOOOOOG migraine plus I was in a bad mood because I had a composition lesson that I wasn't prepared for.

Thanks guys. 1:6 collectors for life. :rock
