Dave should just shut the Sandbox down and be done with it . It's not worth it... just crying, hostility, inappropriate conversations, defending your buds from attacks. It's an endless cycle. Seems like it's gotten to the point where everyone's either a troll, or it just brings out the worst in you.

It's almost Christmas, and you guys are still fighting over petty s*** that's going to ruin your day. Everyone just needs to learn to live and let live. Life is too short for this nonsense.

Go get plastered with some good drinks, dudes, or hit up that honey you've been meaning to talk to. Or both.

Maybe we can split the Sandbox into two sections. We can pick captains and choose threads for each section like picking people to be on your baseball team when we were kids. When the two Sandboxes are set up, then people can decide which Sandbox they want to join. Then maybe we can help Dave out by allowing Premium Members access to both sides.

The irony of the Gentlemans Club clique getting bent out of shape at Devil or me for the things we've had to say lately is that it was the Gentleman's Club that got itself shut down. All the discussion that this club clique thought was appropriate and amusing clearly wasn't to Dave.

I said quite a while back that SPGC getting shut down was not a good thing for the sandbox. It brought all that flavour of discussion into every other thread.

The SPGC clique has numbers, and it's vocal - but that doesn't lend this type of discussion legitimacy.

Reopening SPGC would be a good move in restoring civility to the sandbox. But don't pretend that if it weren't for Devil and me then the sandbox would be a lot more civil - it'd simply seem that way to those in the clique.

You have never been been confrontational the way devil in the past. Ween has never been as confrontational as devil has. Drama and confrontation seems to follow devil more than anyone else. Why do you think i never really reply to him ever?

You are a good dude. But like solidus said, you have to defend your boy, we have to defend ur own side. Poor Ween gets caugh in the cross fire, it is ugly.

The mistake dave made when he closed SPGC was that he should have closed the entire sandbox instead. Because like you said nothing changed.

I really dont like this ugky business of fights in the forum, but like i said when is devil not cursing at someone at one point or another?

To be clear, I'm not on Devil's "side", nor Ween's, nor Hoodonit's. What we have in common - I think - is that to varying degrees we don't subscribe to the dominant clique's discourse. It runs through every sandbox thread. To the SPGC clique it's harmless banter. To me it wreaks of cynicism, bullying and misogyny. I've mostly kept quiet about it until relatively recently.

Devil has been constant since I've joined. He's just one person. Before his latest interventions, he didn't change the entire tone or flavour of this section the way the SPGC clique has.

It's as though the SPGC clique came and crapped all over the sandbox - and now someone else is crapping in it, there's indignant protest.

Writing to Dave, I dunno... it's really up to a mod or to Dave himself to keep abreast of what's happening in this place and do what he sees fit.

Wasn't the Henry Morgan thread also shut down? (Honest question, I don't know) Diametrically different threads.

I wasn't in that thread or group, and a couple of others weren't either, surely if a bunch of people from that place came here then yeah, there's a flavor of discussion, but I'm not sure what that'd be, since I wasn't there, however, are you sure it's not one individual's disposition? I mean everybody gets along just fine, even you have managed to integrate into the conversation just fine recently.

It's just one little cog that keeps grinding... Everyone else is taking the piss.

Although I think not even he is beyond redemption.

Well it's Christmas and we've all got better things to do i'm sure. I take your points but don't really have anything to add to keep the conversation going other than that we probably all agree that Dave shutting down SPGC got rid of a space where like-minded people could hang out, and looking at the current state of the sandbox you'd have to wonder what it achieved.
