Wasn't the Henry Morgan thread also shut down? (Honest question, I don't know) Diametrically different threads.

I wasn't in that thread or group, and a couple of others weren't either, surely if a bunch of people from that place came here then yeah, there's a flavor of discussion, but I'm not sure what that'd be, since I wasn't there, however, are you sure it's not one individual's disposition? I mean everybody gets along just fine, even you have managed to integrate into the conversation just fine recently.

It's just one little cog that keeps grinding... Everyone else is taking the piss.

Although I think not even he is beyond redemption.

And if I remember correctly, it was shut down due to people crying wasn't it? I agree it should be reopened.

It was shut down due to stupid politics and people getting into Dave's ear with fake ****. Dave stated it was "making new people uncomfortable." Just simple poking fun at noobs at the time, making useless thread after thread and mods not doing their jobs in correcting it... is somehow internet bullying I suppose. It also was probably shut down because we constantly goofed on the thousands of "good morning" posts in the Doubtfire Club, and we mocked it on a daily basis.

The **** that has been allowed, and turned a blind eye to over the years with problem members... and the minuscule **** that somehow gets people banned is baffling.

Yet to me their treatment felt like bullying and i personally did not become friends with any of my bullies.
Mind you this was before i got to know anyone or before i knew my place in here as a member.
Sure now i can be the butt of the joke and i deserve some of the backlash, but back then i was just a newbie.
I guess im lucky i have some thick skin and i dont take insults seriously. If i had ever left back then i would have never met great guys like gaspar or zach or zod or shawpaw or snake or plastic. Guys i consider close online friends.

Then the sandbox should have gotten closed for the hazing that happened to guys like me. But dave never really saw the problem in the sandbox
It is funny how henry morgan themselves were banned since they were part of the reason to have SPGC closed.

Even mr green tried to have his own Gentlemen's club thread in the sandbox and the mods closed it.
So not even someone as innocent of all the drama as mr green ( someone that has NEVER insulted anyone) as mr green was not allowed to create his own joke version of a club.

The Sandbox is a area, not just a thread. You close the Sandbox, it will effect more than just YOU. I'm sure the guys in the codes threads will just love it if the Sandbox is closed.

You can always start a private club where you can do and say what you want and control who can join.

I don't care about the code thread. People take getting those codes way too seriously. Free reward points are nice, but a lot of that thread is people bitching about how they missed a code anyway or that Sideshow isn't giving away more. Besides, if they would have kept their **** together then it wouldn't have had to get moved to the Sandbox.

That's not the reason it was moved to the Sandbox, but since you don't care anyway, I won't bother to tell you why.

Yup, just wish there was an option to ignore threads like we can do to members, that would be wonderful. Youd always know when a new thread comes out and you could just essentially delete it from your view if it wasnt your thing. The initial go through would be grueling but itd be worth it.

It sometimes helps to just make the section "read" then that takes away a lot of things. Won't show bold again till someone posts in it. I do that a lot.

Yeah, i hear you but i hate just seeing thread i have absolutely no interest in in a section. It would be great to just click down a row of great choices in any area you desire to go to.

You seem to need the safe place. That's why I suggested it. I was talking about the so-called Gentlemen's Thread you guys used to have. If it was private you can do or say anything you want. Talk about who you want. Have all the control.

I was not baiting Zod. You love that word now, same with trigger. It's just sad that all this bitterness is happening NOW.

Oh I never did. And I never went in there except when the conversation at one time turned to me and my PM box blew up from people telling me about it. Don't care anymore. Water over the bridge.

I just don't see the call or the need for the Sandbox to close is all. Maybe everyone needs to take a time out or something.

Im just curious why this made you get upset. The code thread can be replaced. What is it about this place that you love so much

If you answer with " im not gonna bother answering, im done with this subject) then you have no good reason to keep it open or the reason is not appropriate to share.
But talking to you is difficult when you throw the towel mid conversation so often.

I throw in the towel so much because I get tired of beating a dead horse. It's not worth my time trying to change someone's mind.

Closing the Sandbox is just stupid IMO. And isn't closing it "throwing in the towel" also? And you're the one wanting to close it. Seems you're the one mostly upset about it being open.

Anyway, doesn't matter. Sandbox isn't going to close.
