i think it was Czech made, not sure.
i remember my first go with absinthe...didn't pay attention to the ritual. we we're noobs.

...and we also had wine that evening. i slept on the stairs in my friend's flat. didnt remember seeing the green fairy or anything. it sure has a weird kick though...if i wasn't in good company i could've been date raped.

I think the effects of absinthe are overhyped.

I will say that (when drunk in moderation) the Thujone seems to balance the effects of the alcohol providing a certain "clarity". That's why the stuff I posted is called "Lucid" and it's why it was so popular with poets and other creative types.


There was a study (in the 70's I think) that claimed Thujone was similar to THC. But that's long since been debunked.

I have a few times in the past, but I never thought 'hey, that was a great idea!'

Never a good idea. Entertaining as hell for a couple hours, and then you spend the next day waiting for the railroad spikes to dislodge themselves from your skull.

Not that it makes me any less curious.

to be taken with the ritual was suppose to be the right way, you wont get drunk that easy as it takes quite a while to prepare.
if taken to excess, i would believe you either pass out or bow to the porcelain god, or both.

i only worry if i end up mixing it up with other booze. the worst combination i had so far was having jaegermeister and beer.
and add "good" friends who takes pictures of you going either nutz or getting really down to earth.

Yeah, that's a myth.

Absinthe has been known to cause "madness" in the past for 2 reasons:

1) High alcohol content and overindulgence.

2) They would actually put lead in it as a cheap way to give it the appearance (opaque) of genuine absinthe. The poor bought this stuff, and it made them crazy.

Acid is pure lab made kahkah! I wouldnt say its "lighter", but I would definitely say cleaner. Better experience overall imo.
