My first time drinking Vodka, I had to hold onto my bed because the room was spinning and I thought I was going to get thrown off of it... and then I blacked out.

think i was 11-12 when i had my first half of a beer. :lol

:lol :lol

Outside the pale lagers I can't get into beer. I've tried, but can't stand the stronger hoppy/yeasty/malty taste of any beer that has 'character'.

Gin and Whisky for me. English gin and Scotch whisky mostly. This is what I'm into lately:

Tired of my penchant for the lowly common Budweiser my friends had me drinking Gin and Tonic last night. They did later permit me to drink one of my own lager substitutes Hophouse13. I just like having a pint in my hand when at the pub. It feels right. The Gin was OK but it's an expensive way to drink and involves too much up and down to the bar in addition to all the toilet trips.

Yeah spirits at the pub is expensive. Whenever I'm out I'll drink beer.

8.50 per drink. I thought breaching the 5 euro mark by 50cents was bad enough - the typical cost of a pint of lager now. So to be closing in on a tenner per drink, well, I am reluctant.

8.50 for a pint of beer?! I thought Australia was bad...

No, I wasn't clear with the way I worded that - the 8.50 was the Gin and Tonic. 5.50 for a beer.

Beer or spirits, you blokes are getting a rough deal. A G&T here will set you back about ten bucks (6.50 Euro) Australian at a boutique bar, and 8 bucks at most pubs.

I drink at home mostly, have done since I had kids. It's only 10am, but I've got a stack of Christmas stuff to do. All this talk is making me thirsty. I'm going to start things off with a scotch :duff

Yup, I'm a bourbon man myself as well.

No ice though.

I used to drink it on ice, as I've gotten older I find I prefer it straight.

I should really try more of the British whiskeys considering I, you know, live in England :slap

One of these days I'm going to splash out on some Japanese whiskeys, there's a shop near to me that carries Yamazaki and Hibiki but they're murderously expensive.

I don't care for most beers. Some of the autumn beers aren't bad, but I usually stick to vodkas or flavored whiskeys. I can drink a **** ton though. Takes a lot to get me drunk.
