In the interests of gender equality they probably should face the same punishment as men...but I also can't help but see it from the red-blooded male POV and think that those lads were not taken advantage of. They wanted that and they damn-well enjoyed it. I highly doubt they'll have been traumatised by it or have any regrets except maybe about all the hoopla around it, trouble with their parents etc.

Dude. Watch your goddamn kid.

A man trying to help a lost toddler find her parents was misidentified as a kidnapper on social media over the weekend, according to police in Lakeland, Fla., prompting him to leave town in fear for his safety and the safety of his family.

The man was also punched by the child’s father who told local media that he “thought he was trying to take my daughter” and “wanted to kill him.”...

The father made no apologies for his actions but told The Post, “All that matters is that my daughter is home safely.”

The question of a lot of people always becomes, are women always victims? If a 25 year old gets together with a 16 year old, was she victimized and abused? Traumatized? Are these 25 year old teachers predators regardless of gender?
Or like shawpaw said,

Does that age closeness apply to guy teachers too?
Personally, i dont know ,
We are conditioned to see females as damsels in distress or victims in a way, we dont think women can be bad.
At the same time afmdults should never get involved with teens. It always end up negatively. Teachers should never cross that boundary, no matter how red blooded the boys are.
Ween has said before that young girls today can be just as red blooded as the boys and sometimes they can be worse.

Men are more likely to engage in that type of behavior in their mid 40s based on research. That's usually a time where men sometimes have marital issues, job issues (lack of advancement, losing job, etc), or health related issues beginning.

I've typed out and tried to post twice now and it wouldn't post. I'm not typing it all out again.

16 is legal in Ohio.

16 is too low. It's getting into creepy territory.

Honestly, I'm 30 now and the thoughts of putting up with one of those brats... I'd rather smack them than anything else.

My wife was 16, I was 19. I googled this at work (I'm an idiot) the age of consent here is 16. The cut off age is 4 years difference.

18 should be the blanket age for the country. But then again, if it's just a few years difference I guess it's alright? It's a tricky situation.

Testing......1......2..........3.......I'm having trouble posting.

Seems if I type just short things, they post. UGH.

State's rights are what the country was founded on. This isn't the best example why haha

Not exactly. A centralized government over the states was to to be limited by the powers enumerated to it in the constitution. That's true.

But I think it's incorrect to say that the country was founded on this idea of state's rights. I think it's more accurate to say that the country was founded on the principle of the government's (regardless of state or federal) respect for inalienable rights for its citizens (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). These rights come from God and transcend any rights bestowed by any government.

Of course this rights didn't apply to everyone at the time of the founding of this country.

Tenth Amendment says otherwise!
