I marvel that AOLis still around!

I still rock aol for email. Have had the same email account for 20 years.

I worked for them from 98-06. Saw them go sky high then crash. Buying Time Warner was their mistake but they were salivating at TW Cable. Then were slowly taken over by TW chairmen.

I was working my way through college when AOL (a local company for me back then) was in it's infancy. A coworker of mine said "I put all the money I make in AOL". Wish I had done the same.

The majority of any of those chatrooms were all men pretending to be Lesbians. Once and awhile you'd find a girl who would have a webcam.

Yahoo chatrooms were always crazy.

I loved AOL in the late 90s, early 00s. The same with a lot of businesses though, they relied on India for their customer service and it went down hill fast. I was a paying customer and when they started going free, to make a long story short, they kicked me out, simply because India couldn't make heads or tails about the rules for TOS. That AOL program goes deep into your computer. I found that out when the deleted it out and a ton of things were gone. I was warned about that but didn't believe it. Like I told the administrator that I got a hold of trying to get my account back, they can shove AOL if they want to screw over customers like that.

Now they're telling people who still have the desktop program that they'll have to pay $4 a month to keep it. AOL Gold they're calling it. :rolleyes2

I still use my AOL address too. I've had it since the mid-90's and I'm not getting rid of it until I absolutely have to. I worked for them for 3 months in 2000 and quit. I don't do well dealing with corporate ********.
