The movie section has become a haven for the same people to regurgitate the same opinions and then praise each other for them over and over. Toss in references to Rogue One every 3 posts in every movie thread and the circle-jerk is complete.

How do they know about them?

I think once eBay suspects you are doing anything they deem "shady" then they start reading all of your messages and filtering for any mention of email, meeting, etc. I sold a HT hulk to a guy across town. He asked in eBay and I agreed to meet and take cash. After I met with him...poof! One week ban. They sent me an email telling me that I would be on probation or some shat.

I really don't care if I lost my account. I can always just use a sock account if the worst happens. But it's been impossible to sell anything anyway lately.

Seriously. I've had comic books that usually sell, just sitting there for months. I've tried Letgo and bought/sold a couple of things there.

They didn't bother getting involved with the fighting either so it doesn't surprise me they didn't intervene here. It comes down to awful town leadership preferring to have their thumbs up their asses.

Yeah, it's pretty damn horrific that the Police Dept. didn't even take the Synagogue's request for protection seriously. Thank God nothing happened there, and the town leadership should be thankful of that, too. There would've been political hell to pay if their negligence resulted in anyone getting harmed.

On that note, I think if there was a big police presence near the protestors and anti-protestors, things wouldn't have escalated the way it did. I mean, the police SHOULD make themselves known once Nazis are on the march (and in addition to Antifa, that's one hell of a toxic brew).

I think word of mouth of people that were there said the Cops were told by the Mayor to not get involved. Mayor of Berkeley did the same thing.

Yup, they were just to observe. They said it would've just made matters worse. They filmed the statue being torn down but didn't do anything to stop them because they figured it would just get uglier. Both sides were bad. Both sides were violent. Both sides weren't peaceful.

This statue stuff is ridiculous. Sure there's plenty of ugliness in the country's history... but erasing the history doesn't do anyone a bit of good. It doesn't change the fact it didn't happen.

I don't think the purpose of tearing down the statues, has anything to do with erasing or trying to forget the ugliness of our history. It's more of a symbolic gesture, since the Confederate statues do commemorate and honor men who didn't deserve it. In comparison, Germany doesn't have a single statue of a Nazi officer (at least, that's what I read). Considering what the country had been through with Hitler (who was viewed as a demi-god by the Nazis), they're quite repulsed about honoring anyone.

I guess my only problem with the whole statue debacle is, why now? The statues have been around for decades, and no one even batted an eye.
