Well, that's extreme. I'm not sure how it is in your town, but the fast food joints are under regular health inspections in NYC. Of course, I don't eat fast food as much as I used to... mostly because I can afford better food now.

A cup of coffee can be 4 or 5 bucks now in america.

I haven't been to the US in a while but that's not what I would've expected - that's around 5 or 6 oz bucks :thud:

McDonald's in Oz are clear as. The coffee isn't too bad either.

It just depends on where you get the coffee. Starbucks will cost you a lot more than most places.

Everything is expensive in Oz. Minimum wage is around $20/hr, which sounds good, but a cup of coffee is four or five bucks.

Casual rates up until a couple months ago included time-and-half on Saturdays and double-time Sundays and public holidays.

damn expensive. but im keeping it to a minimum.
i shop @Aldis. still living on 7kgs worth of handcarry luggage. airbnb $20 accommodation and move every 2weeks, too many weirdos couchsurfing. working nights, pay is awesome.

enough $$$ by end of this month for another holiday. its almost 3 1/2 months worth pay back in NZ.

It always perplexes me to see the amount of cars lining up at the local Starbucks. I buy my grounded coffee at Costco, a huge *** can of it. Brew it every morning, takes me minutes while I do other stuff. Made at home, by me, with my fancy cream and splenda (gay, I know). But I bet those poor ****s spend the same amount I paid for all of that in two 'bucks visits.

I'd never understand it.

The worst part? The hippies inside watching uprorxx videos on their 256 GB Macs.

Branding is one of the most influential things in the world.

Sometimes the product can be a piece of horrible garbage but if it happens to have the right sticker, it will make people love it and cherish it and think it is the best thing ever.

People are not buying good coffee, they are buying the branding. That logo is all that matters.

I don't know, I going to Starbucks for one drink only and I know I can't make it myself. I don't give a crap about the fact that it Starbucks, I just know that Starbucks has it.

Is that the only coffee place?
Why not help a local business instead? Find a owner's owned little coffee shop?

The brand definitely matters,
Its kinda like when people go to olive garden instead of eating at a better less known restaurant

Starbucks closed all its Australian stores after it tried to enter the market a few years back, because its coffee is over-priced crap.

I think they've tried re-opening a few since then, but opening up a chain in a country that already has a strong coffee culture where a lot of people know their barista personally was always going to be a tough ask.

That is the most intelligent and concise explanation I've heard to explain why people like TFA and Rogue One--and might as well throw BvS in there too.
