well, most of the time they say that they are oppressed and that the white man keeps their countries down or that the wars by US have made their life hard so they need protection (Which... they arent even wrong, some of them DO need protection, but it is usually from their own civil war problems)
they also say that Christianity is evil and was responsible for the crusades and for the nazis and the witch burnings, then they bring up the priests abusing boys, and then they bring up how the bible is anti gay people and how the bible was pro slavery.. bla bla... so all that combined makes Christianity (And Catholicism wich they think is the same thing) into the most evil religion in the world. a religion that white men use to oppress and slave the world with.... something like that (ive seen that debate many times)

Funny how some of the women immigrate here and speak out that they want Sharia Law here... so in essence they escaped their stoned and ***** to death **** hole to want the same experience here.

Exactly. It's bizarre, frankly. And worthy of addition to the Things that are ****ing scary thread. Because these people are getting their way more and more now - some of it I happen to agree with, I am afterall from the left myself, but I do have a line. And getting rid of one religion only to replace it with an even more dogmatic and oppressive one is it.

If the powers at be in the States had their way, we would have the same censorship as the UK right now. Look at the guy that was on the LIRR in NY a week or so ago getting charged with a bogus hate crime. It's free speech. It doesn't matter what vile thing he said, he has a right to say it. They're inciting a civil war with this ****.

I'd wager the second amendment would already be half way gone by now. Although there is no way are they going to disarm anyone without a fight.

Everything is always done *** backwards. Don't go after the problem, go after the law abiding citizens. We can't offend anyone with cold hard FBI statistics.

My facebook friends who rejoice in every decision that goes against and pushes out the religion of our own land (which I don't have a problem with, I'm an atheist like most of them) and yet who seem perfectly willing to defend and embrace Islam.

If you’re referring to the recent vote to no longer acknowledge the science of recognizing a human child as a living person, I have some common sense input. In my view, the good thing about the 8th amendment there in Ireland was that it acknowledged liberty for all life. No longer acknowledging the rights to life and liberty of one person to the extent of allowing someone to kill them unjustly prioritizes one life over another. A similar kind of ruling was made by the Supreme Court of my country in 1973 and it has lead to a rapid decline in the value of life. As more generations grow up in a country that doesn’t value the liberty of all life, depression runs rampant, gangs devolve from physically fighting each other to killing each other, and senseless acts like mass shootings in high schools become commonplace. I feel like the whole “religious” thing really shouldn’t be a reason to turn a blind eye to the science of life and the right to liberty. Still, you’re right, there’s a double standard to pushing one religion away in the name of “atheism,” while defending and embracing another. Especially when the religion they’re defending throws people off of buildings for being homosexual, suppresses women’s rights to the extent of stoning them to death for adultery when they’re *****, and murders people of any other religion or even each other for varying religious beliefs.
