Again, oxymoronic. Anyway, I actually owned a real muscle car, a '71 Dodge Charger, not a station-wagon in training. So try again. :wink1:

haha, your going to have to try again. I owned a 1970 Charger before l bought my El Camino. Not the crap 1971 model you had. Sorry, but that car is considered one of the not so desirable Charger models. most of the muscle cars went down hill after1970 especially the chargers, so there you go. I wouldn't go bragging you owned a 71 charger.:lol. 1966-1970 is were the chargers rocked, especially the 1968-1970 chargers, they are the greatest car design ever in my opinion with the (coke bottle) body shape. Blade (1968 charger), Bullitt (1968 charger), Dukes of hazard (1969 charger), Death Proof (1969 charger) Fast And Furious movies (1970 charger). Were is your 1971 charger? They went to complete crap after 1970. many people don't even bother restoring the later modeles anymore, (after 1970) because everyone wants the earlier modeles. The 1966 and 1967 Charger were modeled after the 1966 and 1967 Coronet, which l also own, (a 1967 Coronet 440).

How is an El Camino a station wagon in the making. You were saying before they are trucks, now they are station wagons, get you uneducated car opinions straight. Don't even attempt to fight me about cars because l will out do you every time. Classics is one thing l do know lots about.:lecture

Tell you what. When I start calling vehicles that the industry classifies as trucks, muscle cars, feel free to correct me. Until then, you're just being you, slinging personal insults and trying to expand on nothing with more ignorant gibberish. So because this isn't worth an infraction, I'm letting it go. :wink1: :wave

It's not my personal opinion. Google "are El Caminos muscle cars" mass majority who know anything about cars will say those years 1964-1972 are muscle cars if they have the chevelle specs. Everyone knows they are classified as trucks, but are known as and considered muscle cars if they have the same classification (SS, 396, 454) and Chevelle equivalent motor and specs of that year (high preformance), it is conisdered a muscle car. If it has a crappy motor and no high end Chevelle specs some will say it's still a muscle car in those years and some will not, then it is up for debate and personaly opinion, but those years are pretty much considered muscle cars. That's why after 1972 El caminos are not muscle cars, they are just half car half trucks with nothing special about them, no high perfomance engine or specs. Same with Rancheros.

Many people in the car world question why they were classified as a truck in the first place when they have no characteristics of a truck other then the box. El Caminos have a car frame and are even unibodies, there are not many other trucks out there that are unibodies. They have no stats that a truck should have (wheel base, suspension, height, frame and many others specs). It is all car, (classic chevelle) except the box. You think you can't call it a muscle car because of the classification of a (truck), when you dont have a clue about back story, design and specs. It is way more car then it is truck and with the right specs it is a muscle car.

The car in the pic was exactly the same as mine 1970 El Camino SS 396 350 Hp. No question that is a muscle car. If it didn't have those classifications, it would be up for a huge debate between car guys, but when it has every performance aspect of the chevelles it is clearly a high performace classic muscle car.

GMC trucks are still my favorite overall. Ford would be the next good quality truck. Dodge trucks, l will gladly take a crap on the windshield.:lecture

Mowing your yard when your neighbor is washing his car.

Direct violation of Man Rule.

It should be written illegal and punished by being drawn and quartered.

People actually thought he would make a good MOD.:slap

He would make a great mod in my opinion, since he clearly knows eveything. I say he should also run for President since he knows exactly how to fix all the worlds problems.

Drop it twice on the quoted, and I doubt anybody would argue with that decision. :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly::lol :pfft:

I remember those. My dad wanted to get one for a long time, but my mom said not unless he sells his Cobra. I love muscle cars, but I have to have something for putting my mountain bikes and other stuff in.

I agree. The 71 and 72 had horrible looking rear quarter windows that ruined the look of the car. The 73/74 cars had much better quarters and made the overall car much better looking.

Then came 1975 and they went to ____ looks and performance along with with every American car except the Camaro/Firebird and Vette.

Correct, it doesn't take a car guy to see the chargers look and design went down hill after 1970, especially the 71-72 models, they are not appealing to the eye compared the the previous years. Sorry Nam, but don't be bragging about owning the 71 Charger. That's like bragging you have a fat ugly girlfriend with a limp.:lecture
