think SS will beat Medicoms Boba?

Listen, I know this is heresy, but I paid $30 for the Hasbro Legacy Boba Fett, and he scales well with the SS Vader. SS will have to be amazing and afordable for me to pull the trigger.

Of course Sideshow's will be better. It may have loose joints, but at least it won't break within a year, even after being EXTREMELY careful with it. I still love my Medicom Fett, the break is unnoticeable because it is at the shoulder. But I will definitely be ordering the SS Fett for it will be even better. I'll bet he will be the ROTJ version as well.

I'm actually more looking forward to Sideshow tackling Jango than Boba. Of the two Fetts, I find Jango weaker than Boba from Medicom, the hoses on his arms were too short for some extreme gun poses, they just barely want to stay in his sleeve, and I don't like how the helmet sits over the Morrison portrait, I wish it was done like Sideshow will likely do, with a helmet head and separate Morrison head. The Boba Fett works great with the blank head inside it, but the nose on the Jango sculpt doesn't let the helmet sit as properly on his head as Boba and you have to pose it to compensate.

Since he first appeared on television there have been so many different versions of Boba that I really don't know what Sideshow could do to make it any better than the many hasbro, medicom, marmit figures of Boba that have already been made. Sound chip, done, different color uniform, done, various weapons, done, scuffed up armor, done. No matter what the fans will pick it apart and compare it to a previous version. I did weather the clothes abit. Definately made a difference on realism, IMO. Also tattered up the cape.

I'm 90% confident a Sideshow Boba Fett will match or better Medicom's effort. The one area I'm uncertain of with Sideshow is the helmet shape. To me, Medicom nailed everything about the helmet, the angles, shapes, it's perfect and so far Sideshow's Fett helmets have been off in some way to me, the bronze statue, the Jango helm with Mace, and the PF.

I wonder will Sideshow be re-using Jango's helm from Mace's exclusive for the planned 1/6th Boba and Jango?

Hopefully not, as the shape is quite flawed, acceptable enough as a severed head extra for another figure, but not as a main piece to a figure like it'd be for Jango.

Just got this badboy in hand today!

Have to say I'm pretty much blown away by it, Sideshow is going have a hard time improving upon this, the only flaws I see with it are easily fixed, and the paint app is just great!

Just finished giving him a tea bath and now the suit is even better looking, also bend his shoulder/neck armor a bit so the velcro doesnt show, only thing left to do now is to add high gloss to his visor and he will be perfect IMO.

All in all I think sideshow is CAPABLE of doing better than this, but I just dont think they will. Think they will have flaws in this release just like their first Vader did, and with the ROTJ they will probably iron those out, just what I think anyway! Will post pics of it tomorrow in daylight!

Wait 'till you simply look at little Medi Boba funny and his arm or leg breaks. It's only a matter of time...

I think that Sideshow's version will be superior. He will be more in-scale and will be more durable, for sure. Beyond that, though I know those who like to nitpick found lots of issues with their Vader, he is a magnificent toy. Apart from the wobbly joints, so is the Storm Trooper. I expect that Boba Fett will be fantastic. Medicom is typically only an option for me when there is no other option. With the Metal Gear and Akira figures, for instance.

i used to wonder the same thing when it came to Medicoms Clones... will SST top them? could they?

in my opinion, they did. in a big way. i am totally looking forward to doing the same with Boba Fett.

I think Sideshow's work (along with assist from Hot Toys)on the Clone Troopers has been outstanding...I'm hoping they enlist HT's help with both Boba and Jango Fett.

The results should be amazing...
