i really love this hobby and don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. but if i did, the main reason would be the DELAYS. it really pisses me off when practically every single item i have on pre-order ends up being delayed, sometimes up to almost TWO YEARS (ht's tron lightcycle). it seriously deflates the sense of enthusiasm you might have over a collectible. i've come close to canceling on certain items. and this stupid habit with almost every single manufacturer (enterbay, ht, ss, efx) has led me to stop pre-ordering anything new.

there are of course some new pieces i really want (eg: efx's 1:1 avengers replicas), but they're not even up for pre-order yet. why? delayed. :lol

I'm gonna be scaling back, i've got the next three months (whole 3rd quarter) with nothing coming that needs paying.

First time in a long time that i'll have an empty quarter so that should help the transition into collecting less

While I am VERY new to this hobby I can see how folks run in to problems buying everything they see.

I bought a few figures when I probably should have stashed the money in the bank, but sometimes you gotta do what makes you happy.

Life is too short.

i remember when i thought about quitting the hobby.. and someone told me to stop whining and just quit already..
now i don't think you are doing this at all. i was just commenting on how things change and better advice is given now a days.
so just walk away for while and figure out what you want to do..you can always come back..:)

he likes playing dr. phil? :dunno

the only posts I've ever seen from the guy are nothing but busting on people for collecting :huh

...and when he can derail a thread at the same time, so much the better.

"My name is Bill, and I am a toy addict."

Action figure addiction is no joke. You’re in your mid-20s (or -30s or -40s or -50s or -60s...) and you’re still hanging around the toy section at the department store and fighting over toys with 7 year olds. It’s just embarrassing. People look at you like you’re a pedophile or something. It’s just not pleasant but you just can’t help it. A toy hunger in a collector goes way too deep to be ignored.
