You are attempting to justify what is pure objectification of women by men because you can find similarities in how real women behave.

The woman in photo choose to dress like that, which is perfectly fine by me. I've never dressed quite that skimpy, but I did once get a 'talking to' at a job for my short skirts.

That woman has a real personality, real motivations, real sexuality and sincerely appears to be having a good time.

She is definitely not just some fetishised would-be f__k doll like the Black Widow custom or hundred other similar products in this hobby.

The fact you connect them is the problem. Women should be able to be sexy on our terms without men feeling that it gives you some carte blanche license to turn us into basically sexual automotons.

I don't find the need to 'justify' objectification ... because I don't think its a problem to begin with. Red-blooded men are attracted to attractive women in attractive attire. As far as I'm aware, this is not a crime.

The real Iron Chick above dressed pretty much the same as the doll you were moaning about. What makes one "a fetishized would-be f__k doll" and the other "sexy on our terms"? Is the only difference that a guy made the doll and that chick probably dressed herself? Maybe she was aiming to be 'objectified'.

Women can be sexy on their own terms ... and men can react to women being sexy as they see fit. You're the only one here telling the opposite sex how to behave. Dress however you want. I'll react however I want. Let freedom ring.

This is a better example of everything that's wrong with this hobby. Not only does their armor not hide their squishy parts, they've also been reduced to the status of large breasted animals (housepets, even).

I don't see how anybody could see unhidden "squishy parts" and large breasts as "wrong". Those are two of my favorite things (though preferably on women rather than on statues). If some dude wants to buy a sexified statue of a cat lady -- what difference does it make to anybody?

I don't get the orange cat thing ... but to each his own. Either way, that statue hasn't "reduced" anybody "to the status of large breasted animals". No women were harmed in the making of that crap statue.

I'm not sure what the appeal in this stuff is either.

Thundercats and KISS all in one?

It was purely the attractiveness of the designs. No more, no less.

Ever read the Anne Rice Sleeping Beauty books?

No, I haven't. If it's a romance book, I'd be pretty bored with it.

Only Anne Rice books I've read is her Vampire ones.

No, they're XXXX porn.

Beauty is deflowered before she gets the kiss that wakes her up, and then the prince sells her into a medieval sex slave ring.

One time I thought I'd try to find out what the big deal was about the Vampire Lestat series. I picked up The Body Thief and started reading... then stopped reading a few paragraphs in.

Nothing like pedophile vampires to ruin the Dracula thing.

You started with the fourth book in the series. And if you're talking the first few paragraphs of chapter one, he's talking about his "daughter" Claudia, whom he never touched in that way.

And you can't compaire the Vampire Chronicles to Dracula in anyway other than they were blood suckers. I only read a few of her books and got bored of them. I'm not the reader I used to be.

Good Point! I don't think anything in the history of comics is as perverted as 50 shades of grey.

Yet women LOVE that crap...

This story is a huge favorite amongst common people lately, almost every woman i've talked to recently has read it and wants in on that action. XD

Maybe it isn't such a bad thing though i hate how it was marketed to women and spread by word of mouth(probally at the office lol) but, nothing is worse then dating a prude.

LOL. I know it's not ideal. It had a cool title so I started to peruse. We're talkin almost 20 years ago and I honestly can't tell you exactly how far I got when one of the characters' prediliction for young boys was revealed, but needless to say it was a dealbreaker.

Dracula is just an example of what used to be the standard vampire archetype for me.

I agree that grown men who paint doll nipples and photograph them naked envoke a Buffalo Bill vibe.

But StarPuffs constantly starting these sort of debates also screams she's way ugly and no man will touch her.

Some free clues for the artist and those who admire this immature objectification of women:

If a woman designs and/or dons a suit of armour to engage others in mortal struggle,

…she will be smart enough to protect her thighs, upper arms and, oh yes, her head, just like Tony Stark.

...she will have a short utilitarian haircut or put her hair a bun/ponytail.

…she will NOT wear high heels.

…in general she will not list being "sexy" very high on her immediate list of priorities when fighting for her survival or the survival of others.

…she will no go around with a vacant stare, her lips parted in anticipation of your "hot" kisses.

…in fact she will most definitely not be interested in you, not even as friends.

***

I just wanted to clear that up in case any juvenile fantasies were standing between grown men and a grip on reality.

This design trend is why this hobby sees much lower levels of participation from women than our overall share of interest in comicbooks, scifi and fantasy. It is truly repellant.

Of course some people still find this acceptable too:

I see this post and I don't see everything wrong with misguided feminism...I see psychotic feminism.

no mention at all of skin-tight form fitted spandex covered male superheros? If youre going to rant about sexism, at least do it equally.

I remember back when my wife and I were watching 300 she made a comment about all the "hot mens' bodies". ..... I back-handed that ***** and locked her back in her box in the basement..... Just because the've dropped the apostrophe from the original Mr's so its now Mrs. does not mean it doesn't still apply. :monkey1

i feel like you all missed the point. The point is why would someone want to create a Iron Man female to look like this because it looks ridiculous. If your going to create female versions of something why do they have to be in this kind of ridiculous costume. And its amazing how a lot of you guys think its cool.

So this thread further shows how immature people can be with this hobby posting other ridiculous female toys and figures doing offensive things. Pretty much the lowest of the low IMO.

Not all women are offended by this stuff and I dont think the point was to say 100% all women are offended because this stuff really more or less just laughable and immature behavior, but atleast you should understand why women would be offended. And very few of you seem to understand.

ok done!
