Thanks!

Now we need to share some with the people who live several states away and can't even entertain the possibility of attending, and who are probably crying me a river right about now...

Aw, come. I live about 8 or 9 time zones away, and do feel your pain.

(Congrats on getting that Master's, btw!)

I'm not there yet, but so close I can taste it. I have finished 87 units and the last three I need are only offered in an intensive course in late May, once a year. So it's during CIV, or no degree until 2008.

:sick

Well, not so much, really.

:D

I just wish that things could have worked out differently. The 30th Anniversary of Star Wars only comes around once every...

Thanks, Dusty!!

The Star Wars article had me thinking that all of the commerce was going to be in a giant store area that would be open through Monday.

I don't want to be the one guy in the crowd of tens of thousands whining and demanding to be treated as an exception to the rules, so I think I am going to try my luck at the non-attendee ordering and just not worry about getting there late. I do think it's cool that people at the convention will be given the chance to get something without having preordered--or even having heard of Sideshow before--and I'm sure that the vast majority of those who will be preordering won't have any problem picking up their order on Friday or Saturday. I just wish that my schedule allowed me to be there the entire time. I literally have to choose between the first two days of CIV or finishing up the last of the work I need to earn the Master's degree that I have been working on for five years, and I can't reschedule. So my hands are tied. Add that to the fact that it's looking very unlikely that I will be able to get to Comic Con this summer because of a work related conflict, and you have a very bummed out board member here...

:monkey2

I feel for you Tom, that is frustrating. I cannot go to SDCC this year either and I had so much fun last year. Maybe in 08. Anyone that can possibly go to Comic Con should go at least once. The special treatment SS gives to it's Freaks is worth the trip alone.

Congrats Tom!! I will be starting mine soon and am somewhat nervous about it.

Well, at least you can still get your exclusives and see C4.Not the way you wanted but I know SS will help ya out!!

I can't wait to see you all again in July. It can't get here soon enough.

Indeed, not too shabby -- I still am dying to know who sculpted it.

I wonder what it will cost... would be cool to get but I have a feeling it will be out of my $ range.

Out of all the possibilities in Star Wars they Pick a Worm?

I laughed when I seen this. It's Aweful.

Yep -- it's full of awe. Awesome, in other words. :D

I'm delighted that they chose to include so much of the asteroid crater environment, and it looks spot on. Also, the variety of paintjob on the slug itself surpasses my expectations by quite a bit. This is such a unique, yet iconic way to celebrate ESB -- and at just 9" in size, I hope the ES and the price will be in the Crackorama range.

Because however great some of us feel this piece is, I have a nagging feeling that Nasedo isn't actually impressed, and it would be best for all if the ES ended up reflecting the niche status of this particular image...

The slug looks great ... I agree. As well as the painting on the crater. HOWEVER, the metal pin holding up the Falcon looks horrible. The falcon can't possible weight that much at that scale. They should have gone with clear plastic. I am going to wait til I see the price and more pictures ... but right now that metal rod is irritating me (... um ... that really sounded bad LOL).

The Falcon is way over-scale and that metal rod/wire holding it up looks horrible.

When I look at this picture, my eyes are drawn to (in this order):

1. The slug
2. The rod
3. The Falcon

But the (probably) very small size will bug me more than the rod. It could just be the flash/reflection/angle that is making it stand out more than it will in person.
