Fellow collectors I'm having a bit of a "crisis." I've been collecting on and off for years mostly 7" figures with a couple 3.75" (The new Iron Man 2s) here and there. A month ago I treaded into uncharted waters when I purchased the Hot Toys Predator from the first movie....my first Hot Toys Collectible. This was as good an idea as bad since that has grown to now 2 Predators, Harvey Dent, and DX-01 Joker. Now this isn't a "Oh help me I'm addicted thread, but now that I've been spoiled by Hot Toys I'm sitting here looking at my other figures and for the first time ever I want to put the ALL away! This isn't good. All those years of collecting and.....I'm not interested in displaying them anymore.

Is this a bad sign?

Yep that's me.

All my 7" is now in a big plastic trunk. :monkey2

This happens to most collectors I think. You start out with the small figs and then trade up to the higher end stuff. I started out with the 4" Star Wars stuff, then moved on to McFarlane and NECA, and when I eventually moved on to 1/6 all of the small stuff got sold off/given away. Once you move into 1/6, the small stuff loses it's display presence.

This is part of the reason why I have held off on buying Premium Format! :horror

:lol

Same as! Actually its only been in storage for a few weeks and I'm kinda regretting it :lol

McF does look lame next to a 14" T-600 but the overall look of a collection is cool when its more varied...

Same thing happened to me. All my 7" figs slowly got taken off the shelves and replaced with 1:6ers. Although if I had the room my 7" stuff would come back out. Particularly my Green Lanterns.

PF's didn't phase me a bit. I got a few then sold all but one off. 1:6 still rules the roost in my toy room.

Ditto. Same happened to me. I had all these 7" figures and now they're all sold off or put away somewhere. The only thing that's out right now are my NECA TMNT, Altair, and V for Vendetta. That's it. Once I finish my customs for V and HitMan, those 7"ers will probably go away as well. It's a sad thing but at the same time look at all the glory these 1/6 figures hold.

soon you'll upgrade to 1/4 and 1/1....Be Elite or GTFO

I sold a bunch and packed most of the rest away. I've always been into 1/6 scale, Sideshow and whatnot, but Hot Toys is a whole other level and my smaller stuff just didn't seem to be worthy of being in the same room anymore.

That's not a problem for me. My love is still toys and action figures and Premium Format are not toys and they are not action figures. They are statues. I have no interest in something static like that.

Same here. I tried the PF thing briefly but found statues boring. Only ones I have left are Hulk and Jason Voorhees.

Oh yeah, a couple are ok for guys we'll never get in 1/6 scale, like the hulk. I don't think HT is going to do him.

I actually do have a luke on tauntaun statue, but that's it. It was actually given to me by somebody on this board for free. :lol

Good to hear! :)

That's the other reason I haven't bought PF. I would rather spend the same amount on a Hot Toys piece that I can pose and make my own! In fact, posing is my favorite part of this hobby.

1/6 FTW!!! :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

I was all about the posing when I started collecting 1/6 and building Gundams a couple of years ago. But when Sideshow announced the TMNT license I knew I had to have them. Now whenever I look at my Donatello comiquette he just brings a smile to my face as I remember the good ol' days of playing in my bedroom as a child. I think statues bring a little bit more maturity to a collection and they have a certain charm that I think 1/6 lacks. Of course now that I have been bitten by the polystone bug I have PF Wolverine, PF Sabertooth, PF Gandalf the Grey, Raph and Mikey comiquette, and the IM MkVI Maquette on PO.
