It's the reason why I didn't buy The Thing just because of that sunburn paintjob. I find it annoying. You might be okay with it. Just look at any of The Thing pictures and you'll see what it means by sunburn. Personally, I think it was a production issue when they made them. It would have caused them too much to fix it...so might as well ship them out. I believe there are a few of them out there that has a consistent paintjob on them.

Yeah I was looking for this un even paint job thing on The Thing but I couldn't find out what everyone was talking about, I think mine is pretty evenly distributed with the paint. Some say that there's looks pink as well, I'm still looking at mine trying to figure out what everyone is talking about...

Well, I definately see it in a-lot of the pictures from different owners so it's definately there.

MinMay seems to believe it was a production problem and was not intended.

It's hard for me to really say w/o actually owning him (although i'm hopefull that it will be sooner rather than later) but too me I kinda like that sunbaked, rough, gritty, multitextured and multicolored rock design he's got going on because lets not forget that he's a byproduct of being "scorched" by cosmic rays.

Or it was just a production problem like MinMay say...lol

but if it was, I kinda like what the end result was which is a superhero made of multilayered rock with blue eyes that stand out.

Not all big superheros can be green...

Now if Juggernaut's armor had The Thing's color with the sunbake thing going on, that wouldn't work but for a man made of rock....he looks just fine.

Now that I think about it, I think i'll paint my living room his color.
 
I own the Thing and he looks absolutely awesome.
I saw a little bit of the red shading here and there but in no way does it take away from how stunning it looks.

I think some people had more of that shading on theirs and they were obviously loud in expressing their disappointment and IMO thats why this statue has had so much hate.

Honestly though, when I opened mine I thought he looked amazing.

Right on I agree with Spartan, I think it's not a big factor but like I said I can't even find any unevenness in mine, it rocks regardless... Great bargin for such a massive commanding piece and once you get him you must have Hulk because the two make the scene complete! :rock

This is my Thing PF. It's the International/Modern EX. I owned the Ex. with the changeable heads and the International Ex is by far the version that I prefer despite the opposing majority.

Well, i've decided on the one with shorts vs international regardless of the low # because at the end of the day i'm not going to sell anything....i'm not a flipper, not interested in freeing Willi, I want to pass these bad boys down to my son.

I like the bare leg on The Thing with shorts, shows more Rock...lol

i'm being real...more of the hard work on the polystone is showing instead of pants.

As much as I want them to complete the Avengers, i'll still fall of my chair if the next PF announced is one of the following (starting from most desired)

Modern Hulk (to coexist with the Kirby)
Iron Man
Daredevil
Wolverine
Juggernaut
Colossus

Geez, can you imagine Hulk, Thing and a Juggernaut, all in the 34-35 pounder club, running at each other on our shelves....lol
