The scene with Loki in the cell reminds me of the shots of Benedict Cumberbatch in the Star Trek Into Darkness trailers.

I wasn't a huge fan of the original Thor, but this one does look good.

I was one of the lucky people who got to see The Avengers movie at one of the advanced screenings 3 weeks before it was released. I was amazed at how many people on forums like this wanted to know every single little detail from the movie before they saw it. I hate, hate, hate sitting in a movie thinking "well, I know what happens here because I've seen it in the trailer".

I am also on a self-imposed IM3 blackout, because I do not want the entire film spoiled for me. Trailers nowadays are just way too many and way too much information.

They can also raise expectations absurdly high, and then when you see the film you're all like "What the hell....." Prometheus fell headlong into this trap. It had great trailers. Then the actual movie..... blarg.

So, this Thor teaser looks pretty good. I'll watch the first few trailers and then that is going to be it. I want the film to stand or fall on its own merits, not on what I think it should be based on the trailers.

As for Doom, no I dont want to to see him. Because, where he goes the FF go; and imo that franchise has been irreparably damaged by some truly horrifyingly bad films. Onscreen Doom is a joke now, sad but true.

He seems to have a sizable female fanbase, based on what I've seen on the forums here. He's definitely a distinctive and memorable character as portrayed by Hiddleston. And I think he has to be the most well known Marvel film U villain at this point because of his exposure if nothing else. Now he'll be in three separate movies, while the other villains (Red Skull, Iron Monger, Whiplash, Abomination, aliens, Mandarin) were restricted thus far to one a piece.

A shame that Marvel split up the film licenses years back. If they can get this much mileage from Loki, imagine what they could do with Marvel's most important villain--Dr. Doom.

Yup... Pretty sad that THE villain in the Marvel universe, an inspiration for the creation of Darth Vader, can't even be used to his full potential.

It also sucks that we'll never see the Hulk and Spidey on screen together... Or Wolverine with either of those two.

Balogna I say. People said the same about Batman after schumacher.

Never speak such ills about DOOM.

Schumacher made those films they way they were, on purpose.

The people who made the FF films seem to have honestly thought they were the greatest things ever.

If Doom can somehow show up by himself, fine. But that is not going to happen due to licensing. I confess to not wanting to look at more FF films, because once bitten and all that.

Holy ****! That looks epic!!
Move over IronMan!! This is the Marvel movie I want to see!! :rock!!

:exactly:

I'm still excited for IM3 (and MOS), this just makes it one more to add to the list.

It will be great having this post summer.

We're getting elves in November and in December. :lol

You forgot The Wolverine :thwak:

Would be great if Fox gets the Hulk so Wolverine & The Thing could fight him.

i'm going to guess that Lady Sif is (obviously) jealous of Jane Foster, but then in the end comes to save her life because of her (Sif) love of Thor, and his love of Jane. If that makes sense?

I'm not a comic reader....in the comics does Thor fall in love with Jane, Sif, or both (sort of like Peter Parker has both MJ and the blonde girl who's name escapes me)?

Sif does look stunning in the teaser

He'll probably be in the FF Reboot :yess:

The execs at Fox, for reasons I cannot even begin to understand, thought that the guy behind Barbershop and the Queen Latifah/Jimmy Fallon classic Taxi would make for a good director of a film from this classic comic franchise. He was not fully responsible for that abomination of a film, but he was the most important creative element, and Fox's decision on that measure really makes you question every other decision they made with that film. Sue and Reed were horribly miscast, Doom was a joke, the film was horrible. . .forgettable at best. For that reason, this is the perfect franchise for a reboot. But whoever the geniuses were who put the first two films together should be locked in cages away from any contact with Fox employees during the duration of its production process.

My mate goes Greenwich Uni, I got very jealous when he showed me pics of his view of the set. Lucky bastard.

Oh yeah and trailer looks wicked.

I graduated from Greenwich University a couple of years back. When I was there I saw the sets for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and The Wolfman, but I wish I was there for this :(

On the bright side, we do get this underwhelming, forgettable garbage:

I almost prefer the Corman version.

:lol Kind of ironic if you think about it, Chris Evans started his superhero movie career starring as Johnny Storm AKA Human Touch in that film. Who'd thought he would be Captain America years later.

In fact when I see him now, I think this is Captain America and no one else! :)

I think it's funny how perfect he played Johnny Storm and now I feel he does a really good job at Captain America.

I really like the look of the dark elves. I'm a little tired of Loki, so new villain(s) headlining the show sounds good to me.

Looks pretty kewl. Will watch. I liked Thor, I like Eccleston, and I've loved Taylor's work on Game of Thrones.

I do hope the water being pushed by the ship's tail isn't the final effects, that water looks pretty bad.

Like FF4 Reed Richards stretching bad. :lol
