Yup

I figured he would only show up to earth to see Jane, say a quick hello to big ****s Dennings...err.. Darcy and take off to Asgard (with or w/o Padme) for most of the film.

I wasn't aware of a second alien invasion of Earth.

Hmmm, very interesting.

Must investigate.

I think that happened when someone said he needed a youtube channel, the fame just went to his head.

They better have a good explanation for that.

It could derail the believability of the film.
Before this trailer I was under the impression this film would be mostly set outside of Earth, thereby making the Avengers irrelevant.

Still, i'm excited for it.

I wouldn't hold my breath.... Remember how Thor showed up in Avengers with absolutely ZERO explanation how he got there with the bridge having been destroyed in Thor 1?

I don't know if it would "derail the believability" but it would certainly be yet another glaring plot hole in this whole movie crossover mishmash. And then people ask why some Batman fans don't want him running around with Superman? :dunno

It's not a movie plot hole but brain holes of a certain viewers :lol

"What dark magic did father conjure up to get you here".

:dunno.

That explanation satisfies you? It's a question. There's no answer to it. It's sloppy and it hurts the moving ending to Thor with him looking down on Jane wondering how he's going to return to her. It also hurt the ending when he goes to Earth for Loki with not even a MENTION of Jane. I understand he has his hands full with Loki and the alien invasion and can't stop off to see her, but he couldn't even ask them about her or mention her? Just felt wrong to me.

I think there is a scene in the helicarrier where Thor is checking on Jane's whereabouts. Anyway, you can't cover every plothole and satisfy everybody. It's called suspension of disbelief. Trailer looks nice for a first out. Better than the teaser with a logo or a 10 second POV scene of him flying with the mjolnir out front and then landing in the middle of an elf army (come to think of it that might actually be pretty cool). Like the subtly improved costume and real hair. Hopefully he will wear a helmet for a hot second or two. I already like how Sif is looking in this one--one of my favorite female characters. I'd also like to see her in a ceremonial headdress as well. We didn't get anything on W3 that I saw. Hopefully Enchantress will show up even in an after credits teaser since the character is not in the cast list. Looking forward to seeing what Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje looks like as Kurse. I hope Hot Toys gives Thor 2 a better representation than T1. new Thor w/helmet, Sif, Malekith, Kurse, Warriors Three, Heimdall are my short list.

In a film where the goal, point, and all I care about is to see these characters together on screen?

Yes. Short. Simple. To the point.

He does ask about her and Coulson tells him they got her to a save location. The Dark Magic quote was "How much black magic did Father use to get you back here?" Dark Magic isn't something Odin would want to use and was forced to as a result of Loki, someone had to stop him and get the tesseract back. The tesseract was one of Odin's weapons and he wanted back out of Loki's or anyone else's hands.

I assume that Odin using the Dark Magic is what has led to the events of Dark World, because he's awakened the Dark Elf sending Thor to earth to stop Loki.

Yeah I remember him asking the agent about Jane so I felt that was an appropriate nod to the 1st film and the ending.

Love the costuming and the hair looks better for Thor and what they've done with Sif. Jaime Alexander looks great. Overall the movie definitely looks bigger in every way, effects looks better, and everything feels in a grander scale. Also love the tone the trailer set for this movie. Can't wait for this. I think I'll skip all other trailers moving forward this one was enough.

Ah, my mistake. I honestly don't recall any mention of Jane Foster. I have only seen it twice but still with Thor being my favorite character of the group, it's odd I'd have missed that bit of dialogue.

As for your assumption about Thor being sent to Earth using Dark Magic and that causing the events of Thor 2, that's an awesome assumption I hope turns out to be true. It will be a fully fleshed out explanation instead of the rushed question Loki gave us.

Not black magic... Dark Energy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_energy (which is not science fiction)

I'm betting its Jane looking for Thor that contacts the dark world. Looks like the Bifrost is back up and running though which makes sense. Science and magic are one and the same but they have no rainbow bridge repairmen?

I think the references to "The Dark World" are related to

Hel = Thor may need to travel here to retrieve Jane Foster

Or it might have to do with Niflheim, home of the Dark Elves, including Malekith
