Annnnnyyyyywaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyssssss..... I just rewatched "Thor" the other night. Yeah. It's still awesome. Gonna rewatch "The Avengers" tonight! I'll pay attention to those lines about Jane Foster this time.

No, you don't bring Thor into this. This thread should be the "Nat's Great-*** discussion thread" from this moment forward.

End of Thor

Can't get back to Earth as the bifrost is destroyed. Big emotional barrier between Thor and Jane as he can't get back to see her even though he desperately wants to.

Avengers

He appears back on Earth. One line dismisses that fact that Thor couldn't get back to Earth by making it completely possible without the bifrost all along thus retconning the ending to Thor. Upon returning to Earth, Thor uncharacteristically doesn't go to see Jane right away (she wouldn't be there but he ddn't know that) but fair enough he's on a mission so he'll leave it until the mission is complete. The mission is completed and he blasts off back to Asgard without visiting Jane despite the fact that he should want to see her (ending of Thor) and knows exactly where she is thanks to the balding guy.

Avengers fudged up the ending to Thor and his character progression.

The way I see it is, he adjusted his priorities. He had concern for her, he checked up on her, which was that scene on the heli-carrier BAM done okay Thor can breath easy knowing she's safe. Now...his brother, who he thought dead, was suddenly alive and assaulting the earth BECAUSE OF THOR. Thor obviously still cared for Loki. In that instance, I would have made the choice Thor did. I would have put my focus on Loki as well and dealt with that particular "family issue".

Relationship with Loki who he's known for countless years > a girl he has known for a few months.

If you want to grasp at straws and say "yeah but what about the Shawarma scene?!" whatever...Call it a brief moment of respite where he needed "SUSTENANCE!" before he had to escort the war criminal - his own brother - off to prison.

Not Thor related but Avengers related

:slap:slap:slap

"In the pilot, it’s revealed Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the ultimate super spy, faked Agent Coulson’s death on purpose to motivate The Avengers. Some S.H.I.E.L.D. members were in on it (including, possibly, Maria Hill played by Cobie Smulders) but The Avengers were not. Their security clearance wasn’t high enough. Coulson was forced to hold his breath as part of the ruse and that’s a point of contention among his colleagues After the fact, Fury moved him to a remote location until things died down, and then he was reinserted into duty at the time of the show."

That's an unusually bad misstep by Joss and really cheapens what happens in the movie.

:lol holding his breath. :rotfl

I guess that goes in line with comics. No one ever stays dead :slap

Although, maybe Joss will make it funny. If it's supposed to be comical, I can be OK with it. But if it's meant to be takens seriously....well...
