He was an overgrown lost puppy to me in that one. He's not a bad actor, but he has yet to prove he can pull this out of his bag o' tricks. It would be a much more inspired choice if he was given the director's chair.
See, I disagree. If you watch the BoS and see what he went through, his dedication was phenomenal. I bought him as Murdock then (it was other aspects that prevented that movie from shining) and have little worry he'll fill the cowl nicely for Batman. Plus, as you point out, having him on set is a definite resource. I just hope it doesn't result in intimidation drama that winds up ruining the flick. Plus, if that isn't incentive enough, Kevin Smith is a personal friend and the biggest of Batman dorks. So I think Ben will have plenty of reinforcement to get it right.
