For the best that it follows Avengers IMO. Moving the Thor/Loki story forward is a lot more important than using a whole movie to explain why and how Thor showed up in Avengers (which they could either do in a prologue if relevant to the new Thor film, or explain later in flashback or exposition in a few minutes).

Honestly, I'm of the opinion it was covered in dialogue already. :huh :lol

Well, they were vague about it. I'm guessing they originally thought it was a good enough story to do a whole movie about. Spending a couple minutes on it instead seems like a good compromise between that and sticking to the "dark magic" line from Avengers.

Maybe Odin angered some gods or demons channeling said magic, so. . .he's forced to send Thor off to the "Dark World" to deal with it.

Since Mads Mikkelsen passed on the main villain role, it's now going to Christopher Eccleston. Also confirmed to be Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves.

You got to go to the world in the Thor movie video game. Looked pretty cool and will be interesting to see on screen.

He's a great actor. While I hated ROC, I thought he was perfect to play Destro.

Destro was always a bit weird, because in the cartoon he sounded like a black dude, but he was supposed to be white. . .and Scottish. Honestly, I can't imagine any actor who really would fit my impressions of what Destro is supposed to be, unless it is a voice actor, being the guy that did the voice in the old cartoon :lol

Yep. Destro will always being a hulking white guy with a silver mask and black dude's voice.

:lol Never thought I'd hear you say anything positive about ROC!

I agree though. For the businessman, arms dealer Destro, he was great. He wasn't the body builder, white scottish guy with the voice of Darth Vader of the cartoon. Completely different takes on the character, but I think the more businessman approach worked better for the film world. Really not sure who could play him as the comic/toy/cartoon Destro though :lol

I'll be honest. I know zilch about Thor beyond Loki and what little they've expanded on in the Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes cartoon. So I'm just going to have to trust they know what they are doing here :dunno

Both he and Ray Park were good casting. That was about it for the positives.

Same. The only other character I knew from his universe was Enchantress. She's been in some cartoons and had an action figure come out so I was hoping she was gonna be in the sequel. Sucks that it looks like she wont be.

Yeah, Park was a great choice for Snake Eyes. They just blew the costume. Storm Shadow wouldn't have been too bad if the hadn't screwed up the costume so much. Plus you shouldn't really see him unmasked at all either. Stupid actors and wanting their face to have screen time :slap

Yeah, I think behind Loki the Enchantress is probably the best known Thor villian. I would have at least recognized her, but even then I still don't know much about her. So for once, with these Thor movies, I'll be just like one of the non-comic fans that have no clue on what is going on before hand :lol
