Re: THOR: The sequel

I like. There's worse things it could have been.

So i'm thinking this is a very long shot but just maybe it could have something to do with Surtur

I was thinking that as well. Surtur is a big villain in the Thor universe.

Could very well see Thor and Loki team up to battle him.

Iron man has it right, no silly subtitles for movies just the number please.
You just know there's some __ out there who says the full title when they go to buy a ticket:rotfl

Or, Hel. Or, Svartalfheim.

OR! It might have to do with wherever the Chitauri were, shown at the beginning of "Avengers." It looked pretty dark there. The Chitauri swore vengeance on Loki if his invasion failed - and he failed. Loki is in Asgard now, but I could totally see war between Asgard and the Chitauri as they try to reclaim him to wreak vengeance on him. Loki is bad, but Asgard would never give him up to the Chitauri. I dont see that happening in a million years. So.... war.

Of course, this last might be a theme reserved for Avengers 2.

Lots of interesting possibilities here, I wish we were keeping the original director.... but you gotta make do, right?

But they've already said Thor 2 will deal with events pre-Chitauri and focus on how Thor is able to reach earth without the Bifröst Bridge, which would mean it happens before Avengers, so I wouldn't count on it.

Really? That's rather interesting. Could I maybe have a source for that please? Not doubting you at all but I was under the impression that Thor 2 would deal with Loki's punishment on Asgard and Thor reuniting with Jane.

It's somewhere in the abyss of the Avengers thread. I believe it was a Feige quote dealing with Thor's ability to just "appear" on Earth given the end of Thor. I guess fans were too retarded to pay attention to Loki's dialogue to Thor on the ridge. :lol

How Thor reached earth without the Bifrost is already no mystery; Loki said Thor did so only with Odin's help, and I didnt hear Thor denying that anywheres. Loki also said in "Thor" [paraphrase] that there were many ways in and out of Asgard that were hidden to most, but he was familiar with them. I'd imagine he, or anyone in the know, could use them to go almost anywheres, including Midgard.

So I dont think Thor showing up on earth is such a huge mystery that we need to devote a movie to it, he'll just go when he wants, with Odin's help or without; however I could be wrong and an actual source would be nice. "I heard it somewhere" is very iffy.

He also said though, that Odin used up a bit of his power to send Thor, so it's not necessarily a renewable, every day type of thing.

I don't think that's correct. It's my understanding Thor 2 will deal with events after the avengers.

So Feige changed his mind? :lol

NVM, apparently so:
We’re going to see the other side of Asgard. It’s not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster.

From what I read someplace a while back he has. We're gonna see how they deal with what Loki did, see Jane again (coming to Asgard), etc. It like Iron Man 3 is its own story but what happened in the avengers will have an impact on this movie.

Edit: you found it :lol

For the best that it follows Avengers IMO. Moving the Thor/Loki story forward is a lot more important than using a whole movie to explain why and how Thor showed up in Avengers (which they could either do in a prologue if relevant to the new Thor film, or explain later in flashback or exposition in a few minutes).
